Nope. Any sub deck space I had was pretty well taken up buy my dual fuel tanks under there. 61 gallons takes up a bunch of space!

I kinda figure skis/tubes and such will get tossed up in my cabin.

I know a couple of the guys put a ski locker in their rigs. The Huron Angler, fishingho and djpeters come to mind right at the moment.

View attachment 108291 I was wondering if/how the rest of you gents install a rod locker in the deck? You just cutting your own door, or buy a frame with door and install?

I bought mine on ebay, plenty available. Don't spend more than $40...I got mine for $30 and the teak can always have it's lustre brought back with some teak oil.

I have mixed feelings about my ski locker...it creates great storage, but also allows water and debris to get under the deck a bit more than a closed deck.

In the end storage wins out since my 16' SS has very little.:)

Your work is looking great.

I got my ski locker off ebay as well. Deal of the century too....it was a brand new overstock one for like $30 or $40. It was worth it just for the aluminum trim ring!

Way to lose a few noodles in the process jetter :D. I sympathize with your decking frustration. It was in and out of the boat 50x for each part for me also. O well... it will be that much sweeter, when were out on the water enjoying the hard work ... huh :D

I'm with ya! I want the storage but not the odds n ends into neverland. I'm finding myself in a bad habit.. the ol lady leaves around 4:00am , so I'm up ..getting caught up on your thread..10 pages here.. 10 pages there... and before I know it the suns coming up... and I say to myself..."YOU FOOL! Instead of getting something done, I just blew one of my favorite parts of my day!" Oh well, its easy when I see all the hard work you fellas put in! Thank you for the inspiration!:)

I just couldn't wait... I went ahead and made my own locker. I screwed and epoxy'd some 3/4" for support to the bow decking and on both ends of the locker. I couldnt justify the cost vs down time on waiting for a Teak. :D

Assuming it's already off the dash, I'd carefully cut the vinyl just leaving the outline of the sticker. Then I'd glue the sticker to a piece of thin black plastic. You could cut the plastic the same outline as the sticker or some other shape you like. Then attach it to the dash or a glove box door.

Just one option.

Ok, so its been a while! I got my vinyl flooring on its way. I'm contemplating battery placement... The PO had the battery under the starboard bow decking. Seems to me like a lot of unnecessary wiring. Any you guys have your battery near the helm? I'm thinking I want it further back...any suggestions?

I see no need on an 18' to have the battery moved forward.

My house battery is starboard rear, my 24volt in port bow, anchor in starboard bow to maintain weight balance

I have two starboard/stern as well..no ill effects to be reported, and it is a short run to the helm I suppose that there is a lot of weight at the stern with 12 gallons of fuel back there too, but the boat doesn't seem to mind.
