This trailer is a shorelander 16SS. Appears it needs extended so tiedowns function properly. IS it possible to have them back too far?

I went back and looked at your earlier pics. That trailer is too small for the boat. Sorry :(

Well got the splashwell etched and primed. Ready for paint. Transom is done. Ready to put back in. Drill the drain holes after transom installed? IMAG0288.jpgIMAG0288.jpg

I'm really pleased how the tip n roll turned out. If paint lays down as swell as the primer has, I'll be very happy!.

The only way to make this trailer work is to move that boat forward (looks like 1.5', maybe 2'). To do that you'd have to have extra tongue length welded on too. Add that to the rusty/bent issues you already have, I tend to agree with EZ.

Find a piece of garbage fiberglass boat on a solid trailer for $200 and you'll be in good shape:)

Nice work on the paint! I couldnt fathom painting anything up here in MN right now, SO HUMID!

I would recommend drilling drain holes before you install permanently on the transom BUT I would pencil them in when you have it properly dry fitted. Rule of thumb my Grandpa taught me was to NEVER drill in place as then you involve the chance of wrecking something you should not need to worry about....too bad it took me a couple of mishaps to cement that one in! :)

Yep drill the transom holes out of the boat. That way you can seal them before reinstalling.

Thanks guys for all the wonderful knowledge! I'm on the lookout for a donor glasr. Old trailer has old bunks/ rollers off. Needing a utility trailer to haul my 4-wheeler with blade anyway! Thanks again

Then the extra bonus of all the fun you'll have chopping up the glasser.:D

Good luck on the search! You might even get $200 for yours as is.

IMAG0329.jpgHey guys! I was able to get first sheet of decking down. Had to find the right combination of pre-drill so screws wouldn't strip/ break off. I'm glad I went with 3/4 ...

IMAG0332.jpg I was wondering if/how the rest of you gents install a rod locker in the deck? You just cutting your own door, or buy a frame with door and install?
