Re: mission accomplished, wonder how many innocents died today

haha....90%(guestimate) of the people who've posted in this topic have had the exact mentality over the last 3 years that Rodbolt is mocking, only not quite as dramatic. I can't remember how many times I've been called a traitor or terrorist for being against this unlawful, unnecessary, and costly war. Get it through your heads....Iraq was NOT a threat to us. Powell and Rice both said that 7 months before 9/11.

I bet many people here are all for going after Iran, even though there has been absolutely no proof, zip zero none nada, that Iran is trying to build a Nuke. Just like Iraq had, or still has if you ask the right people, Weapons of Mass Destruction. And I don't buy that 'everyone else thought he had them too". That may be true, but not everyone was willing to invade, ala the "Coalition of the Willing". What a joke.

"Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger."

Face it, you fell for it.

If GWB was such the evil trickster, why didnt he plant WMD in Iraq so as to prove his point. That would have been a good one for you MrB.

Which is GWB this day, an incompetent baffoon, or an evil dictator? He cant be both.

I cant argue with you any more, its a waste of my keyboard.

Ken

Re: mission accomplished, wonder how many innocents died today

Its a sad day when an American can pump off Democracy, with facist or communistic dictatorship as if they are equal. We have failed the youth, we have failed our educational system. It is a shameful day for us all. How many men died so mind numb things stated as some kind of intellectual utopia can carry any weight other then to inflame. How many communistic models have been tried and failed at the cost of how many hundreds of millions of lives so someone can trot out the suggestion that there is no moral superiority to freedom?

I find it very condescending that someone who has clearly no experience with living in a communistic or facist regime would be so overt as to even float such a suggestion considering the possible numbers of Jewish, Russian, Eastern European or even veterans that could frequent this site. In the halls of academia such "enlightened" comments may be acceptable because of the sacrifices of those listed above and many others. But anyone who knows history or anyone who had to carry the water for the right of some of our less educated citizens to make such foolish analogies, can find nothing of value in the commentary. You may find sactuary in the arrogance of youth, and in the ramblings of ultra left wing refugees of the 60's, but when the rubber meets the road the systems advocated are the first ones to eliminate the freedoms used to install them.

Voting for a dictatorship? Don't you see an inconsistancy here? Pathetic..

I guess that Rodbolt wants Jimmy Carter to be president again! History tells us how well weakness and appeasement works. The USA may not be perfect, but it's light years ahead of whoever's in second place.
BTW I don't have that King James version you speak about. Am I disqualified?

"mission accomplished, wonder how many innocents died today"

How many innocents died at the whim of Sadam???? Or would have died had he been left in power??? But then for Sadam it was about ethnic cleansing not about the oil so it was not nearly as reprehensible.

You talking about the innocents with the rocket launchers or the innocents with the bombs strapped to themselves? Or maybe the innocents setting up the roadside bombs? Or are we talking about the innocents sawing off contractors heads?

Until we have a shortage of young troops I'll be content to fight anti American drivel here on the homefront..wezz got lots of insurgents right here on the home front.....
.....and in my golden years, if I can continue to stay fit or fit enough, I would be happy to end my life in the middle east ,....with the mother of all bombs strapped across my bellie..

I am now officially agreeing with rodbolt. There, right there, is proof that we are training terrorists right here in the USA, let alone in the jungle. Sorry. Me wrong. rodbolt right. Man, a little sympathy though, they're so well hidden. They even play along on forums etc. Then, while monitoring those same forums, you can see how easy it is to catch them, but you've got to be monitoring . . .

Bush Sr is a Texan Yankee.

Bush Jr is wasn't born here, but he got here as fast as he could. I'd rate him 90% Texan. :D

Actually, the Bush family moved from Massachusetts because they couldn't compete with the Kennedys.

Ken

The Bush Plan

1) Assert that there are WMD in Iraq

2) Attack Iraq to destroy the weapons

3) When there are no weapons, change the goal to Democratize Iraq

4) Keep the military small enough so that the violence continues unabated

5) In the meantime, build permanent bases in Iraq

6)At some point pull back to those bases after telling Iraq it is responsible for its own future

I'm not the author, just thought I'd share :) ...JK
