Re: My 16 Foot Super Sport
Here are some more pictures of the boat. It is coming along and the electrical components and wiring is in the boat now. I have the fish/depth finder, stereo (for the kids - teenagers), courtesy lights (6), Nav and anchor lights, bilge all set up on the fuse box and switch. I struggled most with the placement of the stereo speakers. There is not a ton of room in a 16 footer to place speakers.

The front speakers were fairly easy but the back required a bit of fabrication and thought.

The two back speakers were mounted inside PVC end caps. I first mounted the caps with pop rivets to the top and sides of the corner of splashwell then attached the speakers.
I could not find a switch plate in town that was small enough in my price range. iboats has some cool items but I was in a rush so a made this little number out of some spare aluminum and put my iboats purchase switches on the plate. Nothing fancy but not much is on my boat so it seems to work with the overall look.
Here is a look of the sides of the boat. It was a while back but some may remember that I got some cedar from a local sawmill and had an old telephone/power pole cut to fit my needed thickness and put them in the boat. So here is a look at the dash and sides again. I reinforced the cedar with a backing of 1/4 exterior ply that I coated with marine urethane, gorilla glued and clamped.

I wanted a something for the boat that I could use for extra passengers but I was not keen on one or two seats cluttering up the space behind the driver and "shot gun" seat. I also wanted just a slight step up to cast from when fishing. This bench goes almost the full width of beam with total height of a 10" lift off the deck. I think that a cushion along that back portion of the splashwell is the next installment toward boat completion.
