Re: My Boat Was Stolen Yesterday!! Caught On Tape
Glad to hear you made OK with insurance, I live semi-local too you (St. Pete) so this thread was extra interesting too me. Glad you didn't take offense to the hindsight 20-20 haters. Hopefully one day some low life POS will steal something from one of them and they will have the nutz to post it here so we can all judge them.
Mike I used to live in St Pete, back when gas was $4/gal they had the nasty habit in St pete of pulling up to your boat and siphoning your gas in about 5 min. 140 gallons of gas was no small loss.
To prevent that from happening to me I removed the end of the hose that leads from the gas cap to the fuel tank and installed a screen on the end then hose clamped it back on. Less than two wks later everyone but me got their gas stolen; some for the second or 3rd time.
What is funny to me is that the people criticizing my choice of where I parked my boat have obviously never been to FL. Real estate in St Pete especially, Tampa, Clearwater, etc is very limited. You can always tell where there is no HOA because the whole street is lined with parked boats due to the fact that their owners have nowhere else to store them. There is a boat less than a block from me for sale right now parked 2' from the street with absolutely no security devices. I wouldn't think anything of it if my boat hadn't recently gotten stolen.
