Re: My Chieftan project
Very busy day yesterday but a lot accomplished. Fuel system completed, all lines double clamped, mounted, fuel sending wires ran, all lines clamped in position so the lines will not rub and wear anywhere along the hull unlike what I found when I dissected the girl.
Tank switch and fuel/water separator filter.
Side panels all completed and trim attached. Some carpet installed inside the tray area.
Seat boxes constructed and fit in place. Will remove and seal them up then cover with the Nautolex. They are of 3/4" construction so very sturdy. The batteries will be in the rear of each box which has a complete divider in each to keep them completely separate from the fuel tank. Originally planned on an upper box on each to mount the seat on and leave room behind for a small sitting area but that would have required the main box to be much longer and would take up too much space so opted to keep the boxes shorter and go with pedestal mounts for the seats.
Dog house also constructed. It will not be hinged in, will be removable as I hate having it in the way when doing any maintenance on the engine. Also thinking will make a swing up seat on the front of the box with drop down legs for some additional seating. Still in the design phase on that.
Also got the engine completely aligned, tightened and locked down. Got the bow plate mounted, installed the planer mast mount and the bow light. (Didn't get a pic yet). Then started to install the ceiling panels in the cabin but the time was late so that is to be completed.
