A new stringer would be best, your in there and have done all the work to get there, with the work you will do trying to sister everything you probably won't save a lot of time and the old wood will be there as a failure point in the future and may even encourage the new wood to decay quicker.
Use your safety equiptment!
Protect your lungs, eye's and skin with a respirator, goggles, long sleeve shirt, and gloves while grinding, vaccuming, sweeping, etc. max!

That is what I was wondering about I don't want rot transfering over to the new wood so out it comes and yes Iwear respirator, safety glasses powder
and tyvec suit.Next question will be about hull support, while taking the stringers out I want to brace the hull while on the trailer so I can pull it out of the garage to do the grinding and back in at the end of the day.
Should I do one side at a time or take it all out at once?

Hi s1120 my boat is a '91 cobia 19 foot my center gas tank also had a removeable floor panel under the carpet just caulked in but I figured it was just a previous owner cut it out to work on the tank and did not repair the floor whe done.PS that is where my stringers had rot also.

Probably would be better to do one stringer at a time as the boat will be moved in and out of the garage, brace the hull so that your comfortable, "probably" not too much of a worry, but as the old saying goes "better safe than sorry". max!

Looking good. I'm curious though, what conditions is the deck in at the bow?

Looking good!!

Hard to see but do you have a drain chennel into the bilge from the fueltank well?? [it is a belly tank right??

Im keeping a good eye on this, becouse your layout is almost the same as my 20' Rinker.
