Sounds like a fuel problem to me also. It shouldn't take to much to fix it.
Glad to see you on the water.
Looks great.

Friggin' boats. Even a guy with a little 10 horse motor can't manage to have a trouble-free splash! :p

She looks GREAT on the water. Nice work.

Thanks guys ..... this never would have happened if it weren't for the help and encouragement from all of you. I just came from the "shop" and the guy there cleaned, tightened and adjusted this and that and now I guess I am ready to go. He did find that one of the end caps on the spark plug where the wire attaches had come off and was causing a miss. I am going to try and get back out 2day or 2moro and see how she runs.

jb .... the splash of red on the bow cleat was the rope that I had tied her with for the photo. I used an editing program to remove the length of rope from the photo but didn't want to remove the cleat.

I thought it might have been a plastic cleat base plate in red, but photoshop is good too. Glad to hear it's probably fixed & good to go for splash round#2.....

While it sucks that motor trouble is an anthill. :D

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

She looks great afloat! Seeing it in the water I think the black rubrail is better, gives a nice separating line. Here's to a great summer of fun on the water.

Looks like you figured out the motor. Runs Great! Start Looking for a 25 or 30 hp and you'll have a perfect rig.

My capacity tag will only allow a 20 hp motor. I have a copy of the sales brochure from MFG and it states a 35 hp max. Somewhere between 1960 and now the max hp limit was changed on my capacity tag to 20hp.

Well then, a Vintage 20 hp Merc in White would look outstanding on her. I'm gunna have to get that 70 hp merc off of Andgott in the near future I think. The 40 hp on the BF is just not gunna cut it i fear.

Nice vid Jon the only thing missing was the water skiing squirrels :D

The motor actually pushed it around pretty well for the hp ..

I thought that you already had that motor from Andgott..... I don't know what I was thinking. That sure will look good on the back of the BF.

In a pinch an 18hp Evinrude would look good out back too:D

Thanks jb ... It is amazing how you can find stuff at will on the internet. I need to find an electric start because if I had to keep pulling that rope the other day when the motor wouldn't start well ...... lets just say it would have made for a bad day .... lol.

Thanks fst ..... and I appreciate all of your help along the way.

This is no joke sp .... I was looking for a stuffed squirrel to put onto a piece of foam to pull behind the boat in the video but I couldn't find one.

Thanks for the video Jon.:)

Glad to hear the motor purring along and no paddle in sight. My2nd boat was a 16' tiller Alumacraft that I bought w/ a 10hp. I later upgraded that to a 25 and couldn't believe the difference. While it sucks to be limited to something you know isn't right get a 20 her and I bet you'll be surprised. We all know twice the hp is twice the fun.:D

The guy that worked on the motor said that going to a 15hp will be a lot different. I am going to look for a good 20 and max her out ... lol.( that's pretty sad when you are maxed out at 20hp )

Go for the MAX!;) I might be inclined to encourage the use of the 20hp stickers on a 25:eek: or a 35:facepalm:. Esp if it's a Merc, the hoods were all very similar. But wouldn't want to be a party to any overpower & illegal situations.

Nope, never, not even for a little bit.

Ok, yeah, maybe, but just for a bit to see how we like it:)

Keeping the trees & bushes flogged for ya, no electric start 20's down this way. Seems alot of action in the Youngstown & Columbus markets though, but no 20's there yet either.

Good thing that whole hitting the lottery plan hasn't started yet, I might have already filled that pole barn & 40acres w/ projects....................
