A lot of the home made things work, I don't know that I have used these particular cleaning methods but I do know my mother used to clean her copper bottom pots with a lemon, would bring them back nice and shiny. Vinegar is a good cleaner by itself, I soak shower heads in it to get the mineral deposits out of them so the water comes out like it should again.

I need to replace a fuel sender and I don't know what I have. This plastic piece has 2 screws that simply screw onto another unit. I have determined this piece needs replacing. What is it? Where can I get one?

I've done some research and I can buy the plastic piece seperate. It screws down onto the unit that goes into the tank. 2 sending wires to it, thats all! It has no way of knowing how much fuel is in the tank......as far as I can tell.

A Connie is indeed a fine vessel and one that deserves to be treasured.

I can relate to some degree with you about finding things. I?ve spent 5 weeks in the slip with a mechanic working on a port engine cooling issue and an electrical gremlin. It would have been so easy for me to get discouraged but I always felt peace (still do) aboard the new boat and I know she has strong bones and just needs a little TLC now since her last caretaker didn?t give it that.

Old boats are like old skippers, they just need someone to understand what they need and allow them to show them that they can do it with more class than the new stuff being put out today.

My mate, my lady, and I took her out a couple days ago for a day trip and she ran and rides fine. She is very easy to manuver at the dock. I am used to sportfish boats, but this one is a blessing. Sportfishing is a tough job. Some captains don't work on their boats, but I do everything I can.

Next trip is to the Bahamas for a couple days. I wish I had a dingy. I like them little boats also.

Ye I am, CC245, but it is a labor of love. I was lucky, my first captain job was for a professional yachtsman with unlimided expenses who taught me very much about the importance of maintaining a boat. Going "overboard" doesn't always mean your gonna get wet!

Part of my list off the top of my head is horn inoperable, faulty temp sensor, shower sump inoperable, deck hardware needs rebedding, new upholstery in FB, water leak around side window, order spare parts, needs a bath..........

I'll bet I have dozens of dolphin pics. 10 to 15kts..... putting out a good sized wake and they come to play. I had the bossmans wife with me and in all her travels she had never seen them play before. We had several at onetime. They are my friends.

The owners are as happy to have me as I am them, makes a good relationship. I don't do anything they don't do.

I used to make that trip every summer for my old bossman. Did the loop 8 times. My new bossman has done it once and shows no interest in doing it again. I would enjoy it one more time with my lady. We are planning trips to the Bahamas and the Keys, and I would like to take him to the Carib someday.

How true, Capt. Red. About 10% of a captains job is piloting, the rest is maintenance, repair, and planning.

They say dolphins bring good luck, I am a lucky guy just to be here, so I believe it to be true!

I followed nlains link on cleaning brass. I mixed baking soda with vinegar to a foaming paste and wire brused the solution on. This is results after only 5 minutes. This will do for now. Thanks alot, nlain.

I have this old TV not being used, we now have a flat screen. I am contiplating on an ambiance fireplace or a fish aquarium in it's place. Any other suggestions in what to install? And no, not a liquor cabinet, already have one.

Thanks, hostage. The only forum I belong to is iboats. I came here needing advice on gas powered boats and am learning all I need to know here. I guess everybody will just have to put up with me.

The TV you see is not being used anymore....I'm taking it out. Just looking for suggestions to what might look good in it's place.

2) Computer Desk? - With some small modifications you could put a keyboard tray.

She is my puppy now. I will keep her happy to the best of my knowledge. She appears to be very happy with me, as I am with her. She has become a part of my family, just like a pet. I feel the vibes....just like the guys here that have brought a craft back to life.

Sorry it's been so long... I guess there's been so much increased traffic on the forum that this thread keeps escaping me. Won't happen again. I'm sure you've seen plenty of responses to other threads from me, and not responding to yours?... What a jerk I must seem... I havn't been going past page 1 much on any of the forums. I'm off work for a couple days at a time and have been missing this post a lot because of that. When I saw this post was almost two weeks old, I was shocked, and felt really stupid.:facepalm: I don't get on the computer much at home because of all the work I'm doing there. My wife doing work on her blog keeps the computer tied up a lot of the time also.

I've only seen a couple of the vast amount of posts since I last posted on this thread. What little I did see is awesome. I'm going to cut this short now so I can look at as many of the posts as I can before getting called away... I'm at work.
