Re: OK Best band Ever ??

Since most everyone else is breaking the rules and naming more than one band I'm going to list some of my other favorites, in no particular order.

Cream
Moody Blues
Pink Floyd
Deep Purple
Leon Russel
Mountain
The Who
Santana
Allman Brothers
Traffic
Ozark Mountain Daredevils
Jefferson Airplane

That's enough for now. Time to head home and pop a tape in the old 8 track player.

If I have to pick 1 for best musicians and general all around musical groove it would have to be King's X.

ALABAMA 10 years cma winner? Artist of the decade winner. Have real voices that sound the same live or from the recording studio. Just how many "rock bands" could do that? My wife and I used to see them every year till they retired. They were simply the best.

Re: OK Best band Ever ??

Tough question..I have a fav band for different scenarios. Out on the boat, house party, at a pub, driving in the car..etc.etc

Have to say Radiohead. I know not many will agree but their albums were groundbreaking and had a profound effect on me.

Many of the bands mentioned also played an important part in my life beatles, zepplin, nirvana, simon and garfunkle, red hot chilli peppers, the animals, tom petty and many more.

Did I just break the rules:rolleyes: Nope because I named only one as my favorite.

Cheers!

For their wonderful cover: You can tune a piano but you can't tuna fish!

REO Speedwagon.

Nah, kidding...

Live: Peter Gabriel
Studio: Led Zep
Everyday listening: Allmans
Tears to my eyes wondering why I've wasted my life: KD Lang
Voice: Roy Orbinson

Sheet, what a killer question, I don't think there is any one answer.

I saw Tesla live about 5 years back and their 5-man acoustic band. It was a good show:)

U2 Is my best ever choice. It just does not get better than the edge playing guitar.

Gonna break this Rock & Roll cycle with a little Metal. Best Band ever IMO: Soilwork

*Disclaimer: The "Best Band" listed here is better described as "Favorite Band". With so many musical legends and trend setters (individuals and groups) throughout history defining one band as the "best" and most influential for all genres is impossible.

Well Kevin, its a little before my time, but my Mamma listened to them.
Don't get all upitty and stuff . . . :) My Momma introduced me to the Beatles as well. I remember listening to Hard Day's Night when I was probably around 4 or 5. I was confused by "sleeping like a log" :D I can also remember hearing Yellow Submarine, on the radio, in an old Woodie type car traveling from England to Scotland when I was 6. From Rubber Soul through Lennon's Imagine and McCartney's early solo stuff, my mom always had the latest Beatles record, and we wore them out
