I'm in Canada and travel long trips in winter months across the Eastern part of the country (1000+ miles each way)

I've had numerous different brands/types of tires (snow/mud, snow/ice)

My opinions.

Michelin makes a phenomenal tire for snow/ice. I've had them on my vehicles and going on 9 years running them so I've tested a few iterations of the tires. X Ice type. For trucks, I'm not sure what they offer but its a great rubber compound, stays quite soft in very cold weather. (but will wear quicker in the warmer temps so late fall install, and early Spring removal to extend life)

Heard good things on the Coopers as ne7800 mentioned

Goodyear. Really simple. They're good for about a year, that's it. Wouldn't waste my $$$$

too bad there isnt an Iboater out there who has some space for him.
I am sure anyone of us would gladly give up our garage space for him.. but with alot of us over 1000 miles away.. i doubt he's interested in that commute.

My thoughts exactly. I have a double garage with one side being 2 cars deep. Would gladly donate to his cause but I'm over 2500 miles away :(

Re: OOPs Crew

Hey All, I`ve got a random question to ask and as far as I can determine this would be a good thread for a random question.
I`m going to be a lil selfish and want to show off my boats and my local lake.
So is there already a thread like "Show us your boats", Or "Some pics of our local waters"?
I've done some searching and come up empty. Maybe I'm doing it wrong cuz I can't imagine theres no thread like that.
I was thinkin of being real selfish, And making my own thread but that would make it look as if I was showing off which is what I want to do without you thinking of me that way.

And here's looking forward to being in Opps' crew some day, Todd.

Todd,

Create another thread....Nothing wrong with that as things are slow and all of us here on iboats love boat pics.

As for being part of Oops Crew, I'm thinking you'll have to shake the Kokanee for some Coronas:D:D:D

The guys simply created this thread to discuss spinoffs in Oops hull extension thread so as not to fill it up with non-hull extension stuff. Feel free to post.

How far are you from Kelowna where oops lives?

Welcome..

your in the right place.. start a thread... in dockside chat.. saying show me your boat.. post yours.. give details.. we wanna know .... we wanna know..
I am sure everybody here will do the same.. post a pic of yourself too.. we wanna know what you look like too..

there are alot of guys here with more than one boat.. guys with boats in peices.. guys getting ready to rip one apart....and guys with fully restored boats.. they are all here.. and everybody helps everybody else.. and everybody loves looking at others boats.. and everybody get ideas from what sombody else has done.. thats what this forum is about... boats... boats.. and with some boats thrown in on the side..
a bunch of like minded boat people talking about boats and related subjects..
and FYI.. if your and I-boater.. your part of OOPS crew.... this thread was started to specifically relating to OOP's thread of hull extension.. (10 to 11 hrs of constant reading).. to keep the "fluff" out of his thread.. its kinda of developed into guys talking about their boats, boating, buying trucks to pull boats.. etc..

I look forward to seeing your boats.. and hearing about your boats.

T-O-Double D, Yes, there is a Show your Boat thread ... I am bumping it up for you to see and use (boat topics and questions (not engine) section). Enjoy!

Doggonit! It won't let me bump it ... but it is there! I tried. If you can't add to it ... start a new one ... this one was titled "Show Your Boat II" and was 23 pages long ...

Posted my 2002 Hurricane to the thread. Really like the Blue Water. What are you running on the back of the Glastron? Looks like an older Merc? What year/HP?

That Hurricane looks like a party.
Thanks for the pop on the Blue Water.
The Glastron is a 73 17' boat with the matching year, I'm hopeing original 1150 merc. I'm still in love with my Glasstron it's just so noisey having that huge twostroke running behind your head all the time.
I lucked out and found a 75 1150 with the gear selector rod bent for $300 CAD. Everything else worked on the second motor till the distributor shaft broke on the original one and then the second motor became parts.
I guess I'm gonna make a thread about my Glastron cuz I got pictures of it when I got it and the transformation to now and I'll keep updating till I finish and or sell it.

Sweet motor. My slip neighbour has a newer 1150 (ot sure the year) and I previously had a '65 500. Great motors. Love the look of them.

Check out jcsercsa's. Its a great classic looking motor.

Kinda miss my old 50, but love the newer Johnnie. Pushes the deck boat in the mid 40s so its a lot of fun to drive.

Re: OOPs Crew

Double D and Q ... both of you have some sweet water rides there! I love the older Glastrons ... and the older Mercs were sweet, but from the mid 70's thru the 80's I had problems with them and really would not care to have another later than about '72.

The Hurricane is sweet also ... wife would love to have something like that ... and I would be cool with it as long as I could hunt and fish out of it! Problem is I don't have too much room in the garage unless I get a smaller tow vehicle ... garage is about 40 feet long and I pull the Skeeter and Yukon into the same hole ... that way the Skeeter can thaw out till morning and I don't have to unhook and hook it up again. Gotta figure out a way to get a longer boat without getting rid of the Yukon!
