Re: pic of work so far

Supposed to hit 60 this weekend John, I'll be sure to blow some your way ASAP. I'm going to go get my little boat this weekend. Looking forward to drowning some bait and washing some tackle.

I've been going crazy with this weather...I want to pull the cap back off the boat and get working on the boat ( and starting my own thread for everyone to comment on ! )

I'm getting my grinder and flap disks this weekend and I'm going to start looking at plywood at Menards. ErikGreens thread is going to be helpful sourcing material locally.

Ha, it'd be hard for me to wet a line yet, I just drove by Lake Waconia ( 2 hours south of me ) and it was still 50% ice!

I'm hoping to have a grinder and flapper discs in hand by this weekend!

BTW, I can get a 3 pack of flappers for a little over 5 bucks from Harbor Freight, or a single one for the same price at Home Depot ( haven't checked anywhere else yet ). The Home Depot one looks thicker than the HF ones...what were you using for your grinding John ( anyone ) ?

Hey Red, I've used both the dewalt flapper and the harbor freight ones. The dewalt has a better angle on it and lasts a lot longer, in my opinion. That 7 1/2" dewalt for 9 something did an excellent job and held up a really long time before it loaded up.

HAHAHA here a couple months ago I was wishen I had a tinny !!!!

Thanks Neil !!! yea I am petty impressed think the primer is going to hide all the little stuff i missed !!!!Which isn't a lot , just some thing little nicks , I found wiping her down !!

If i had to do it all over again I wouldn't have taken me so long with the TeX I would have left a lot more for the primer !!! does that make sense ???But she sure is going to look sweet when she is done !!!!!!!!!!

I want to get one more coat with the primer , then sanding some more !!!!! but this shouldn't take long with the sanding the primer should sand a heck of a lot easier then the marine tex !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! John

Re: pic of work so far

So, we'll see the finished product by Easter then? :p ;)

I'm gonna get my Grinder and some flapper disks tomorrow. I looked at a couple and can see a difference in angle of deflection for the individual papers. I'm going with a 4 1/2 grinder since I can't hold on to large heavy tools like a 7in for very long, and I want to be more precise ( read: not grind through my hull accidentally )

One thing I noticed though, is some screw onto the grinder, the others use the Arbor...which have you used?
