please help... i need a pic

thanx in advance to all.... i just picked up a 1971 johnson 60 hp. it has no coils could someone please post pics of them and the the wire diagram so i can get started on this thing. i know it seems like a lot but if someone has a pick it would help out alot. im lookin into a manuel but hasnt come in yet ... thanx again

you need the manual, that is a hydro electric shift motor.

Not only that, the ignition system on that thing is not one of the greatest things OMC ever produced. You need the (factory) manual. No coils, huh? Does it have the amplifier? What the manual won't tell you: Use Champion L77JC4 spark plugs, not those surface gap mistakes that it says to use.

Im Not Sure If It Has The Amp But I Saw The Price On It And Im Hopeing It Dose. My Manual Shoud Be Comeing In Soon, I Know A Guy With Alot Of Motors Laying Around Im Just Not Sure What The Coils Look Like ...

That engine use's breaker point's, and has but one coil.

The coil is #65, Amplifier is #31
Good luck, the coil is NLA and the amp is $377

Thanx Johnson, Im Lookin At It Now Its Seems To Be All Rigged Up So Im Not Sure What Wires Go To What . It Had A Tube Coil Bolted To The Block But Im Pretty Sure Its Not Orignal

Also I Checked The The Power Bar To See If It Had Power It Did But When I Hit The Key It Jus Clicked ,but When I Hooked Up The Jumper Cables To The Starter It Cranks Strong... Maybe That Would Help , Thanks Again
