How's this for returning form the dead. I can't say it's floating yet, but I did finally make it to my house.
I didn't trust the short bunks on edge to properly support my now heavier boat on the trip home. Not to mention that the the grease in the bearings was questionable, and the lights equally sketchy. SO....I got busy.
New LED lights and wiring did the trick. No more fussy bulbs for me. Next up was the hubs, cleaned them out real well, and repacked the bearings. One of my bearing buddies was corroded and frozen. so that got replaced also.
Finally, some new bunks and brackets. Nice and wide with fresh carpet to cradle the hull nice. I had to throw in a new winch and strap since the last one was a corroded mess.
The only thing I have left to do is add a safety chain to the bow before I tow it again.
I will be weighting everything before I do any long distance towing. I do believe I'm rapidly approaching the weight limit of this little trailer, so I'may be doing this all over again at some point in the future.
It was much easier to work up on my utility trailer than on the gravel driveway.
She's HOME!!
