So I pulled the boat out of storage today and i am steaming mad, first off the roof leaked and there was water in the boat, next someone stoled the trailer harness adapter that plugs in to the truck because i forgot to take it off the trailer, next someone cut the licence plate off, it wasn't my plate cuz i hadn't transfered it yet but whoever took it didn't know that. The worse thing is it was in a building that belongs to my wifes family and only family is in there so it was someone she is related to that did all this

Ahhhh Family!
Sorry for your grief.
Keep a keen eye out at your family summer picnic for your yahoo relative . . . He'll be the one with the "trailer harness adapter" hanging out of his coverall's back pocket :D :) :D

Next season spend $8 for one of those fake cameras at Harbor Freight. Stick it up high in the building aimed at your boat. If they are that dumb to steal from family then they are that dumb to not know it's a fake. Don't tell "anyone" especially your Wife that it's a fake!

I'm in a two family house and the landlord likes to let workman into the basement and he goes back to work leaving them alone. I have one aimed at my craftsman tool boxes in my basement and another one in the room where the workman come into to clean the furnaces which is the same room I have many rubbermaid storage boxes stacked up with my stuff in them. Never had any theft problems. The cameras even light up and start rotating back and forth when someone walks by. Powered by 4 AAA batteries. I don't expect that feature to last, but the cameras are still a theft darrent. Can't go wrong for $8.

So even though I have a monitored home alarm system, I have to turn the basement coverage off when workman are down there!

Here is what it looks like:

In Michigan we have perminit trailer plates that never expire so they would not know it was bad unless they ran the plate number agenst the trailer vin. HOWEVER that being said there were two boats stored there, and the other one belonged to my wifes uncles friend, who just happens to be a Police Officer with the Michigan State Police. I just got off the phone with him, and his plate is missing to but he isn't sure if he left it on his or not. He is going to check his boat over good tomorrow and see if he took his off or it it was taken off and if any of the thousands of dollars of fissing equipment is missing. He is at least going to file a report about the plate. I hope who ever took it is stupid enough to use it.

make sure the plate number gets reported then. I would imagine whatever trailer they are going to hang it on isnt legit either.

Re: Pulled boat out of storage. I am so MAD

Sorry for the grief,

I had three Abu Garcias and my favorite, an xtra fast Shamino stole from my back yard by one of my two cousins. I laid them out to rinse them down and the next day they were gone. I know it was one of them but niether of the two cowards would admit to it. Both are real pieces of work.

Anytime im in a pawn shop I always look at the reels hoping to find my shamino, and this happened about 8 years ago.

It wont go away for a long time.

You would think that storing it with "family" would be a safe as it gets?

Many years ago, my dad decided to store his boat at a local marina instead of using his home-made lift. Come Spring and we go to pick it up. The bloody dealer just stored it outside, uncovered, all winter. Not only was it full of water (they left the drain plug in) but was 6 inches deep with oak leaves. So the ole man had me tow it home (about a mile away) while he dickered over the storage fees. Needless so say, he never paid a dime. He just gave the marina dealer the phone number to the family attorney if he had any questions.
