New carb options:
- Edelbrock 1409 w/ squarebore to spreadbore manifold adapter.
- Holley 650 cfm spreadbore.
With both, expect some fuel line change.
What do the "air bleed tubes" do, anyway?? My "rebuilt" carb that I bought had 2 that were cracked...........
I went with the Edelbrock 1409 with the spreadbore adapter plate. Also bought the Edelbrock 8143 braided SS fuel line from the fuel pump to carb. Total cost from Advance Auto Parts was $412 and should be here in a couple of hours from their warehouse. Thanks "imported_John_S" for the carb suggestions.
Wish I had a nice shiny new Edlebrock sitting on mine.....just sent the POS rebuild I got back to the builder, they are supposedly going to send me an origional number carb rebuilt to my specs. Not very pretty but is functionally steady. I took the studs out and and used two 2" SS bolts instead. It will work until I find a better way to do it. I had problems at both ends of the new fuel line. Took the fuel line back to the parts house and exchanged it for another but had the same problem. I put lots of teflon tape at both ends and it pulled up tight.

Take a pic of the fuel line fitting and fuel line apart I am thinking you are putting an inverted flare fitting into a pipe thread or vice versa.
You cannot use tape on hard line threads they do not seal anything. The flare must seat on the inverted flare or it will go boom!!!!
This might help your throttle bracket problem

Did you, by chance, get that carb from I-5? If so, I know what you are going thru......many on here have cursed themselves for buying from them.
