Re: Question about GW Bush and Global Warming
Lets bring this back to the topic of global warming. A couple of months back Charlie Rose had, what he describe as, "the two top scientist in the US" on his program and they both said without a doubt global warming is in fact happening. They went on to say that it is completely agreed upon in the scientific community that the reason behind global warming is the worlds use of burning fossil fuels. They did mention that there was one scientist that disagreed and other than him, the only scientists that disagreed were on the fossil fuel industries payroll. Kind of like the only doctors that refuted the ties between cigarettes smoking and cancer, were on the payroll of the tobacco companies.

As to the "liberal lies" charge, I think the case can be made that Bush is a liar on this issue. We basically have the whole scientific community united as to the cause of global warming and Bush continues to act like the jury is still out.

As for Jim Hightower, I think he has a point. If Bush thinks the cause of global warming hasn't been proven, he is in fact not acknowledging it.
Because if the cause of global warming in not from burning fossil fuels, than the only other reason that I heard of is normal climate fluctuations. If you believe that, than you are in fact not acknowledging global warming.
