I would have no trouble finding that part or repairing that part.----Maybe even make one out of stainless or aluminum too.

I have no idea what that is supposed to look like, but it seriously looks like a home-grown fix that didn't work out. Now is the time to think of ideas to accomplish what the broken part is supposed to do, and make it happen with maybe some other idea. If you had a lathe, you could turn something out to make it work. Doesn't look too complicated... JMHO

The parts are all factory except for the screw in the end.----People start guessing as to what is wrong with a motor.----The ---" lets try this " approach does not always work !

Thank y’all for the input! I reached out to a couple of shops and just waiting to see if they can find one for me. If I have to, I can make something for it but would much rather have the original piece haha I don’t want to mess with it and then fully brake it and be screwed

Try the salvage shops at the beginning of this forum for the part. It's NLA in the parts books.

is the nut on the end of the spring? if it's not, it's probably what cracked it i'm guessing after someone fiddled with the spark advance arm. send a better pick of the whole thing so we all can see better!

The screw is not part of this assembly when it left the factory.----Where did you find 308824 for these parts ?

a 1996 70 2 stoke lists that part # for the nut. fits inside the adjuster so the spring has something to push against. i'm not near one of my motors that has it to take a look see. i use the parts book.

How can a motor work properly with a near broken part, is it part of the timing advance and carb synch ?
