Re: Question for those who've had "The snip"

I can tell you it didn't hurt me in the slightest. I never felt a thing. My wife wasn't feeling so good for a few days after the proceedure, but I never noticed a thing! LOL!

Re: Question for those who've had "The snip"

I've watched several programs on it. I've also talked to quite a few guys too. It is local only. They say that the local hurts like the devil has got ya. It feels like your on fire AND someone is kicking you in the groin all at the same time. Fortunetly they say that only lasts about 5-10 seconds.

I wouldn't be so much worried about the pain... I mean, I've been kicked in the nuts as much as the next guy has... I just wouldn't let anyone mess around down there with a pair of scissors.

Had the big snip done in 2001, wasn't a big deal. The worst part of the deal was shaving that area. Just make sure you follow the doctors instuctions about what you should and shouldn't do for the next few days. I didn't, and I paid the price.

Re: Question for those who've had "The snip"

I can't speak from experience, but the guys at the Fire Dept one night (I'm a volunteer) got to talking about it. It was a no holds barred Q&A session. I paid close attention as it might be useful one day. Well, what I took from it was don't do a dad gum thing for about 3 days after it, and keep some frozen something on it. Make a good excuse to stay in the recliner for a few days. Then, just keep it really light for 2 after that. One guy felt great after 2 days and decided to mow the lawn (postage stamp small, flat lawn with self propelled mower) - he said it killed him. They said the needle did hurt like all get out, but after that, it was nothing. Everyone that had it done (which was about 5 or 6 out of 15 or so) said it was worth it 150%.

We've got 2 and want a 3rd. After that I thought I might be on the table, but the doc said a hysterectomy is a very high possibility for the wife. SO, i think I'll be missing it.

The "Yep, I'm now just a little pussycat" is actually the winner, it's just that those who would have checked the yes box are now too apathetic to do so, or to respond. :D

Hey Ken,

Had the deal done after my third child, (I think an odd number of kids is not as good as an even number hind sight bein' 20/20 n' all).

Easy proceedure, it was late spring early summer time and I water skiied 4 days after the proceedure without any effects at all.

Zero effect on the sex appitite or performance.

Had it done in 97, needle inserted hurt more than the surgery, hurt like $#%^, saw stars when the doc gave the shot, afterwards no big deal, no difference in the undercover manuveurs or drive,

just keep them iced up, and stay away from the beer, ever try to go to the bathroom to recycle beer when the outlet tube is frozen froma bag of green giant frozen peas???? well worth it and never regretted it.

Unfortunetly I have a little experiance with the frozen peas already. At 13 I had a testical torsion. Its were the tubes wrap around each of inside the sac. Blood can flow in but not out. AC/DC had a song about what I had. It was not a nice experiance. I've got about 4" of scars down there from it. Thanks everyone for the stories.

Re: Question for those who've had "The snip"

Some good stories here...

Most everyone says it feels like you've been kicked in the junk...

Now, I've been kicked in the junk a few times... I didn't think it was such an enjoyable experience. With that type of reasoning, I think I'll just keep everything where it is, untied, no knots, etc.

My wife has some Super-dee-duper birth control she has to have renewed every 5 years. Her 'ladies-days' is cut from 12 a year to about 2, and even then, it doesn't last a week -- maybe 2 days tops. She seems to like that part, and I'm not real keen on getting nailed in the twins. So, we'll stick with what works for us (me).

Re: Question for those who've had "The snip"

had it done when son was 2(he 9 now), 15-20 mins like someone is steeping on your nads, done - BUT the rule is sit on a icepack for the wknd, and keep drinking a 6 pack - I felt immortal 2 nd day and hiked . bad idea, swelled like crazy! Took 1/2 a Friday off(and after soreeeee the following Monday), pay atn and you can save yourself the Monday - oh yeah back in "business" 3 days later, no worries just do a "leak check", ahem after you "tested" all with missus, you'll be fine. God AND also USE PRECAUTION for the next dozen episodes, the little buggers can live for quite awhile after being orphaned, bud had his 3rd kid that way and wife is a nurse! But gawd AFTER you are "good"(hey I was divorced 2-3 years later) it is a GREAT feeling!!! wink!!!"""" no difference in "outcome" cough cough, nothing will look or feel different.......trying to be polite after last banned post on a fart etal joke........

Ok, I had it done. No worse tham getting kicked in the nads when you were a kid. Truthfully, the needle shots in the ball$ was the worst part. Also, when they dig around in there a little, they will find the "tube" they are looking for. When they pull on it to "snip" it, it feels like your intestines are being pulled from the inside out. Swelling is an issue too. In fact, I felt really good after I got out of the office, so I went and coached at my son's senior league baseball game. Big mistake. The swelling was so bad later that evening, I had to sleep with two bags of frozen corn/peas all night long (on my scrotum)

Bottom line. It's not too bad, its over quickly, just listen to the doctor. Have fun afterward.

Got the snip in 1977, never looked back. Got the BIG snip in 1999 and now it back-fires. Never any mental problems, nor complaints so I'd say go for it man :)
