Re: Question for those who've had "The snip"
I had a testicular torsion also when I was about 11. Had the snip about 2 years ago. Because of the scaring, doc told me that he would suggest doing it under anesthesia, because the pain would be more for me than others, but it was a bit longer recovery. Had it done, and recovery time was a bit longer, but I was able to take a 1,100 motorcycle trip on a Ducati 996S two weeks after surgery.
Pro's to full anesthesia:
Much less chance for tubes to reconnect, they take out a bit more.
No needles jammed into the nuts.
No watching doctor hack at your manhood with sharp knives & scissors.
Don't have to smell your "chestnuts roasting on the open fire".
Go to sleep, then wake up and it's done.
Con's:
Some people are afraid of being put to sleep.
Longer recovery.
If I had it to do all over, I'd choose full anesthesia every time.
It was well worth it,
Erik
Unfortunetly I have a little experiance with the frozen peas already. At 13 I had a testical torsion. Its were the tubes wrap around each of inside the sac. Blood can flow in but not out. AC/DC had a song about what I had. It was not a nice experiance. I've got about 4" of scars down there from it. Thanks everyone for the stories.
