My Daughter Gracie should be here in about 6 more weeks. This will be my third and final child. SWMBO says that its so much better if I "take care of matters" instead of her and I actually agree. I'm not one bit scarred of surgery as I've had several and its no big deal to me. The emotional part though is starting to get to me. We raise horses and goats. We casterate them to gentle them down and make them manageable. I can't help but feel that is whats gonna be happening to me. While some of the mods may appreciate a kindler gentler KB I'm about as soft as I'm gonna get. So for those who've had the snip please chime in.

Well I'm to mellow to type and I just don't care anymore:(:(.

Naw I'm just funnin ya, had it done 24 years ago and have never regretted it.
Made for a very carefree uh, er, um ............times with my wife!:)
My 2 cents, go to a specialist not your GP and wait six months or so after yer next one is born. ( not tryin to be pessimistic, but you never know).

I experienced no changes whatsoever, mental or physical. However it was kind of a waste since my wife had to have a hysterectomy a year later.

Had it done in 1972.

Greatly improved my sex life, took the LOML off the pill, (which really made her mean).

If you plan no more children, I highly recommend it.

Had it done in 1993. No regrets. Very same story to boatbouy.... wife had medical problems.

I have friend who tried to have his reversed and spent thousands..... only to find out his 2nd wife was not capable of children....

Go for it.

Re: Question for those who've had "The snip"

I'm no expert on the subject, but they don't castrate ya' like a billy goat-----they only tie up the tubes that carry the racers to the finish line. Hence, the 2 dudes are still there making testosterone, etc. No effect other than no more little varmints wetting diapers. ---Congratulations---I'm getting a new one in August myself (my third also). by the way, my brother-in-law said it hurt like a bad word, although my Dad said it wasn't that bad.....Myself, I prefer knives and hot carterizing tools as far away from that area as possible(if you know what I mean).;)

Never had it done, but a co-worker did a couple months ago. They had to fire him after that, he was just useless. Naw, just kidding, he's as ornery as ever!

One thing that surprised me is he said they didn't put him to sleep for it, it's all just local anestetic. I don't think I could do that. They would have to put me to sleep first if the doctor didn't want a black eye. :D

OK, since I can't vote, can somebody at least tell me the results? Please, for the sake of all you Eunichs, tell me that it is 100% stud.

Only difference I noticed was I stopped playing leapfrog with the couch cushions!!! Ruff Ruff.......
Worst part was the two week wait leading up to the surgery. I was nearly in tears when I had my dog "fixed", so you can imagine how I felt. Only thing missing now is the mad dash to the 24hr store in the wee hours when the nightstand drawer was bare!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually only 6 have voted so far. Two said there a stud and the other 4 said there a cat.

Just kidding, all 6 claim to be a stud. :)

Re: Question for those who've had "The snip"

I've watched several programs on it. I've also talked to quite a few guys too. It is local only. They say that the local hurts like the devil has got ya. It feels like your on fire AND someone is kicking you in the groin all at the same time. Fortunetly they say that only lasts about 5-10 seconds.

Re: Question for those who've had "The snip"

I had it done in 95, a few months after my second was born. It was done under local and was a breeze. My wife was with me in case I wasn't able to drive home. I did drive home. A little sore that evening with a bag of frozen peas, but that was about it. My brother and a friend of mine said it hurt like hell (they said a needle was placed directly in the left testy). That was not the case with me.

As far a being mellow, different, or slow, I think that only happens if you are castrated. I have the same drive I have always had :D (well maybe not like when I was a teenager).

Anyway, no bid deal and no change. :) Except no more last minute runs to the drugstore, which killed any chance of being spontanious.

Good luck to you KB

Actually it is just like Fight Club.....

The first rule of Fight Club is you don't talk about Fight Club.

Do not like the fear of pain deter you...... actually the Doctor's are anticipating that you scream like a school girl..... embrace the tradition and scream like hell! The Doctor will enjoy it too!

Be sure to get the wallet card if they use metal clips too so you don't have to be stripped searched by Homeland Security at an airport terminal! :p

Re: Question for those who've had "The snip"

Okay, QC. Here are the things I noticed:

Had it done along with an inguinal hernia repair. Any pain or soreness was completely lost in surgery recovery. Didn't even notice it.

Wife went off the pill, which had made her a pretty snarly person and made her break out; made her breasts sore, too.

No "get ready" ceremonies that break the mood.

Major loss of anxiety about risk of pregnancy in spite of the #$%^& pill. That was both of us.

Major loss of worry about whether she took the pill at the right time. Again, both of us.

Money that used to be spent on the pill went for wine and flowers. :)

Zero downside. . .zero.

Re: Question for those who've had "The snip"

My only problem was that the nurse was one of the my high school classmates mother. That and the fact that I hate any medical procedure that I have to be awake.

Done in 97 after thrid child.
