I tried to look in a catalog too buy the items needed for this meter

1N4007 Diode

I looked at a lot of the caps on that site, and the best I can come up with is 65-578-47. The price is a bit over the top though. I pay about $1.50 for them in Australia...

Finally the resistor 6.3Mohm

The resistor is something you'll have to go to a electronics shop to buy. Very few on-line stores will sell less than 1000 resistors at a time...

Can any kind soul please give me a hint wish ones to buy
so I dont ruin it.

The price is not that bad, its in SEK, so the cost will go from 5.89 AUSD, to 5.89 SEK.
And that would be only 90 cent.

Do I go for the 1000v alternativs. or does it got to be 630 v on the "greencap"

I am quite an amatuer in this, but I?m trying to check an old Mercury 1976 50hp.
The stator is next. And this is the thing I prosume.
Done the ohm-test but very tricky, the numbers are all over, flickering just locking at the meter.

Anything over about 450volts is good..

You can use any value around that. 5.6MΩ or 6.8MΩ would be fine..

The stock numbers for the items that you're needing are...

Diode - ZR1007 (that will cost you 60c, but you'll get 4 in the packet)
Capacitor - RG5247 ($1.95)
Resistor - RR1668 (pack of 8 costs 40c).

So for $2.95, some lengths of wire and some solder you have a $200 meter.... Pretty cool ah?

Just ordered everything online including extra DMM leads and mounting box. Even with delivery it was still under $20.

Errr, just one question.... What exactly do you need a DVA for? You have a stern drive, either points (if it's as old as me) or TB-IV/V, which is troubleshot with a DMM...

The 302 had a piranha retro fitted dissy. Sold Dunaruna 5 years ago, I wish I still had it but c'est la vie.

I now am the proud owner of a '92 70hp yamaha on a very early savage hull. This yammy has issues, it cuts out at random times for no apparent reason, starts up again without issue and goes for another few hours and then cuts out. It's not a fuel issue.

The hull was a giveaway (literally), it was destined for the crusher. Like I needed another project - not! I'm a sucker for punishment.

What would the watts rating be for the resistor. Is 0.25watts okay would 2 watts be to high.

That's a minimum rating for heat dissipation. No problem.

The only upper restriction on resistor wattage would be physical size. As far as the actual dissipation, 1/4 watt would be ample....
