Re: St. Augustine in May/June: UPDATED: Now With Dates!

You got that right, I have projects here that I am working on, I do understand life getting in the way, and yes that is much better than at least one of the alternatives. :D
I have spent the day in between thunderstorms working on one of my projects, made a lot of progress today, not finished but a lot closer.

Sometimes I just find, the closer I get... ... ... ... The closer I get. I have so many projects going on, and I really don't have the ability to work on only one at a time to get things complete because even in stages only, the work is necessarry. Sometimes I'm so tired and worn out, I'll do as little as possible to just get by. Most of the time, however, I'm doing so much, that I work myself too much, have to fight to stay focused, and end up with "duplication of effort", or just becoming an irritable jerk. I always remain proffessional at work and outside my home; so unfortunately, my family catches the backlash. I've been working on that, too. I know that I have indeed been getting much better in that area, but I also know that I've got a lot of room for improvement, still.:)

...But knowing is half the battle. I'll have it all together one day.:)

Speaking of which... How many more days???!!!:D

Along with the lobster, if successful, I'm going to bring the mix for my new favorite drink. The bin Laden.....2 shots and a splash.

I am going to bring my two grandsons, they need a break also, I think this will be a good time for them as well, there will be others in their age range for them to be with as well as us older children. Now I have a question, do we have a plan or are we just going to do whatever comes up? Either way is good with with me. At this time they do not know so this will be a surprise trip for them. There are other things going one with them and I think this will be good for them, sad story, will not go into it now. They are good boys and we try to do all we can for them, some spoiling but not too much, just a lot of love and praise if they do good, if bad then yes there are consequences, but with love.

I think your grandkids will have a great time. So far, as I see it, there are no plans. To me, that makes some of the best vacations. We can hang out, walk St. George St, do the haunted train tour, walk the fort, lounge around, etc. We have TV, movies, games, and a Playstation 3 on the boat if they need a break from wandering around. My son has never met a person he didn't like, adults & kids included.

The more, the merrier as far as I'm concerned. Bring them a couple of spinning rods if you can (if they like to fish). There are tons of fish at the docks and if I turn on the underwater lights, they swarm the back of the boat.

Hate to be redundant, but this truely does just get better and better... ABSOLUTEly!!!:D Is it obvious how much I despise redundancy???:p;)

...But anyway... I think, in our case, regarding this venture, a lack of plan is the best plan... sound like a plan?:)

nlain, I think it's great that you're bringing your grandchildren. This little get together is really turning into something more and more meaningful every time we post.

I was wondering how my wife and I would be able to "let go" a little, and truely relax and participate in the "dock partying" aspect of this venture. Now, more than ever, it just seems everything is falling into place and will even more than ever hoped for... Simply take care of itself. The younger children will have older children to follow. The older children will have younger children to lead. I'm sure they'll all get along well and have a great time in, on, and around the water and boats. This will be my childrens first experience with a boating community. They love our boat. They love "Grampa's" jon boat. They love the pedal boat. They love anything and everything having to do with boats and boating.

Are we there yet???

Re: St. Augustine in May/June: UPDATED: Now With Dates!

Here's an update on my wife's work... One of the PR people she's working with represents the owner of The St Francis Inn Bed-N-Breakfast. The Owner has been in touch with my wife, and told her that, unfortunatey, there are no suites available which would be suitable for a family of four with young children during the time we'll be there... But would you consider an oceanside beach house? Needless to say, we shall be well accomodated!!!:D

Now, here's the kicker... This is from the 18th till the 22nd. The 14th through the 18th is in the hands of the Communications Director of The City of St Augustine. My wife is still working out the details of that portion of our trip. Each "half" of the trip will be filled with fun and interesting itinerary which will have us occupied day and night. As previously mentioned, though, the 17th and 18th belong to us. This is still, and shall remain ABSOLUTE!!!;)

That's it!! We're officially down to the one month mark!!

ONLY 30 DAYS TILL DEPARTURE!!!

Sounds like VH is putting everyone up for the night at his oceanside villa/condo for the remainder of the weekend! How did they go from a 'possible' motel to a gratis oceanside house??? Karma, karma, karma.....:)

Amazing, isn't it? We looked at the website of The St Francis Inn. There are pictures of The Bed-N-Breakfast, the beach house, the cottage, the condo, and they also have a number of accomodations overlooking the Municipal Marina!!! It's kinda fun wondering what suprises the 14th through 18th will unfold.:)

Interesting how things happen sometimes. When my wife was pregnant with our three year old, she discovered a "new breed" of cloth diapering. We decided to try it with Sam when he was born. She shared our positive experiences with some people; and it just explosively evolved from there. Turned into "The Gerber Babies Blog" which really took off and branched out to multiple topics.

Is it really down to the 30 day mark? Fantastic!!!

One of my older son's favorite thing to do at my In-Laws house, is fishing from the dock. Sounds like we can just keep a few lines in the water and keep the grills covered with fresh fish!!!;)

Mmmmmmm:D Lots a little fresh grilled snacks!!!

More than likely some big jack cravelle at the dock this time of the year. I'll bring some saltwater dock fishing tackle, net, hooks, sinkers, rigs, bait buckets, filet knife, etc.....Kimi is always willing to teach the young'uns how to do this type of fishing.......Me? I always have the pleasure of rigging, netting, and cleaning.
