This past weekend was our annual Dock Party at the local lake. Things were a blast, but of course there is always the horse's butt that ruins things.
The guy across the dock, cattycorner from my slip really likes to have his music a bit too loud. He asked me if it was too loud, and I said that yes, it makes it hard to have a conversation without having to raise your voice. So, he goes to his boat, turns the volume up and walks down about 5 slips. Then he comes back, changes the music and then turns it up even louder. Not just me, but the rest of us seem to have the same problem with him. Last night, it wasn't until after midnight when he turned his music off. Until then, all we could hear inside our boat was BOOM BOOM BOOM!
Out of the 40 slips, nobody plays music unless it is inside their houseboat or cabin of their boat.
To top things off with this guy, He cleaned about a dozen bluegills and just threw the unused parts right into the lake. Many of us just shook our heads in disbelief of what he was doing.
I would ask to move to a different slip, but there are none available. I don't want to complain, but I don't want to listen to his music each and every weekend. About all of us around him have told him that we didn't care for the loud music, but the guy just can't take a hint or a direct approach.
Some of us really didn't think it was cool for him to get intoxicated with his two little girls that was with him. One is 4 and the other is 6.
Anyone else have a situation like this, and how did you handle it? I don't want to be known as the dock snitch, but I think I have the right to peace and quiet. Especially after 10 pm. Thanks..........SS
