Maybe if we had the dealers email address those that want to share how they are now afraid to deal with them will teach them how fast the word can get out. Something no business wants. Thats playin hard ball but 26k is alot of fish bait.

I like that e-mail idea. I'm sure someone would get there ***** chewed if everyone reading this thread would shoot tracker an e-mail, questioning there warranty procedure, and all the negative things they have heard.

Larky find and post an email address to Tracker or Tahoe or both. I'll send one! In fact I've already sent one just to make them aware of this thread. I looked but couldn't find it this morning. I'll look later in my sent box and see if I can find it. I've got to go now. When I find it I'll check back. if it hasn't been posted where to send. I'll post it, if I can find it? I'll bet 1500 emails would get their attention.

Re: Stringer Pushing through bottom of Boat?

Hello there and welcome to IBOATS..To start, I was a tech for Tracker Marine for several years. What they will do is to either (A) send it back to the factory for evaluation, or (B) Have someone from the factory come down and look at it. If it truly is structural, you will be recieving a new boat. If it is repairable, they may try to repair it. If it is repaired, you wont be able to tell. They will tell you though, if your boat was repaired. So dont worry about them trying to shaft you. Ive seen my fair share of shady boat dealerships, but Tracker isnt one of them. They wont negotiate pricing, but they will take care of you after the sale. During my time as a tech, I saw many many boats sold. We only had one come back that had any kind of structural problems. He had voids in the hull. Basically air bubbles between the fiberglass and gelcoat. The factory made two attempts to remove the voids, but they were still showing up. They sent us a new boat, identical to his faulty Q4 S/F, to rig up and give him. So you have nothing to worry about. If its repairable, it will be repaired correctly. If not, you will get a new one.

Oh, and do not worry about the shipping costs to get your boat to Miami, OK. Thats all on BPS. They hire contractors to do that. But just be patient, theres no way they will try to tell you that the damage was your fault. And BPS and Tracker wont spend much time arguing about it, as they are all in all the same company. Both owned by Johnny Morris, but ran as seperate companies. Not too sure why they do that. I was told when I was a Tracker tech, that we were renting our space inside BPS. Im sure that has something to do with a tax write off. But dont worry all you will have to pay is just a little time and patience.

So Bass Pro Shop and Tracker Boats are owned by the same person?
That is interesting.
You would think the communication would be better than it has been if there all one big happy family.

No he said Tracker Boats and Tahoe are owned by the same company and that is true if you look at their web site.

No, he said that BPS and Tracker are owned by the same person, re-read his second Post.

I checked Hoovers.com and he is correct. John L. Morris is listed as the founder of both companies.

"Bass Pro Shops Company Description
Bass Pro Shops (BPS) knows how to reel in shoppers. Each of more than 40 Outdoor World stores in the US and Canada covers about 280,000 sq. ft. The cavernous outlets sell boats, campers, equipment, and apparel for most outdoor activities and offer features such as archery ranges, fish tanks, snack bars, and video arcades. The first Outdoor World store (in Missouri) has been one of the state's biggest tourist attractions since it opened in 1981. It owns Tracker Marine (boat manufacturing) and American Rod & Gun (sporting goods wholesale) and runs an 850-acre resort in the Ozark Mountains. Founder John Morris owns BPS. "

I think Tracker is going to make good on this. It's a shame the wheels turn so slow though. This probably has to travel up the food chain a good bit before it gets to the guy that can make the decision to replace the boat.

Tracker has a chance to have a good PR opportunity here. It'd be a shame if they blew it.

That is a really neat place. Anyone that is around Branson, MO should stop and check it out. Big Cedar Lodge on Table Rock lake.

Re: Stringer Pushing through bottom of Boat?

Thanks for some positive insight tonyg. One of my freinds drove by BPS and said my boat wasn't there. I'll call tomorrow and see if it's actually gone or just moved behind the gates.

I passed on a q5. Decided to buy used and spend the extra money on repairs. This thread and several others about tahoe boats made me go the route I did. The tracker pontoon boats look to be well made.

I always wondered how service was handled for the BPS stores. Apparently it is treated just as the rest of the store and run as lean as possible. That's retail for you. I'm in the market for a 19-21 foot bowrider and just from the details of your freezing manifold I am removing Tahoe and especially BPS from my list.

Re: Stringer Pushing through bottom of Boat?

Sorry for taking so long to get back on here, but Im on evening shift this week...And yes, Bass Pro and Tracker Marine, Tahoe, Suntracker, Mako, Nitro and Grizzly are all owned by Johnny Morris. And guess what...ever heard of a independent dealer called Travis Boating Center? Yep, you guessed it, also owned by Bass Pro Shops. Its a big secret and they dont like it to be released....lol...oops. They are afraid it may tick off some of the smaller "mom and pop" dealers that sell tracker boats. I will not take up for them, I will just tell you that I had a great few years working there and that I would be strongly surprised if they tried to take advantage of you. I wish for your sake that things didnt take so long, but you know how big business can be, all beaurocratic...It may help for you to contact the general manager of the bass pro store, if thats where you purchased the boat. Tracker and Bass Pro, while located at the same address, always have different GMs. And none of the Tracker GMs like to be hassled by the store GM. Play dumb, because the store Gms in most cases know nothing about boats, they just know they have an unhappy customer. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help...and good luck. Would say happy boating, but that just may push it a bit..for now.

Re: Stringer Pushing through bottom of Boat?

Aside from the process taking too long (which if you have ever worked for a large corporation, you know that is standard), I don't believe there is any reason to criticize Tahoe, Tracker, BPS, or any of the involved parties...Authorizing a new boat is not an overnight matter...you can be guaranteed that they will look at the situation from every possible angle to determine what the cause of the damage is. I have no doubt that if the manufacturer determines it is their fault they will make it right.

It is unfortunate that this has taken so long, but if Tahoe gave out a new boat everytime someone reported a damaged hull, they would be out of business thanks to all of the people who would take advantage of their lack of investigation.

Re: Stringer Pushing through bottom of Boat?

The boat has been picked up! It was picked up Friday (4 Apr). BPS says it should be at the factory by now. I'll give them a few days before I start calling there. Hopefully they have a good team for warranty work.
