I was just looking at my meter it don't go that high 600 is the max and I haven't seen my fluke in about a year kids need it for a project at school. Can I still make one to work?
Just had another thought.. If the magnet has lost some of it's strength, then that could account for the lower sensor output readings...
I had that happen on a cruise control system on my car. The system was erratic and I couldn't figure it out. It got better, but not completely right, when I moved the pickup closer to the magnet (on the tailshaft). I replaced the magnet with a new one and it's been the best ever since then.
Part number for a new coupler (with a new magnet in it) is 23-41429A2. (only about $18)

It came with the sensor. And I didn't even think to ask about
so much was going on at the time.
