Re: Thanks for the help.

This is a great forum. I help when I can and I'm always learning something from all the othet people who post. There are the obvious "knowledge" guys like JB, DHadley, Paul Moir, Joe Reeves, ob, DHPMarine, R. Johnson, and others, but many times I pick up things from just the common "help me" posters. Its really great when a solved problem gets posted and I can hear what solved it. Thanks Iboats.

Like some of the rest, my knowledge is very limited but I help whenever I can. I thank those vastly more knowledge than me for helping me with my challenges and answering my novice questions.

This is the best source of boating information in the world. Thanks to all, especially Joe Reeves, who helped me decide on the best little outboard I've ever dreamed of owning!

Re: Thanks for the help.

I just wanted to thank the people who have responded to my questions. Thanks to DHPMarine, Rodbolt, Seahorse, OB, OBJ, GDane, Walleyehed, R Johnson, Alcan, DHadley, and many more. I have answered a few questions on these forums myself from time to time when I thought I could help. I recently purchased another outboard of a different make and no matter how much you know about one motor its always a help to be able to ask a specific question about a new motor when something isn't clear in the service manual (like that ever happens :D ) I don't care how smart you are, experience rules  and thats what this board gives you, everybody's elses experience.

Re: Thanks for the help.

Well I would like to add my THANKS to all that have helped me in the past. It would be hard to remember everyone because there were many.

I have been reading this forumn for sometime before I started asking questions. It was just too neat reading all this info. about boat motors and suggestions about boats. I find myself just sitting and reading for hours on end.

Just a note, I did finally get an OEM manual for my 48 spl and It is amazing how different it was from the Seloc manual I bought last year. Very informative.

Thanks again to ALL.
Beck :)

Re: Thanks for the help.

From the first 5 minutes I was on this site, I realized that it was the best site there was and I was hooked. It's good to know that if you have a problem with anything imaginable, you can post it here and there are people who are more than willing to help, and when you check your post in the morning you will have an answer or a good direction to go in. This is definitely a great place for people who want to learn and for people who are infatuated and sit here for 4 hours reading and drinking beers and before you know it it's 3am. Thanks to everybody who has helped me out in the past, from the pros on down, every post helps people out, even if it's just a question that can get somebody thinking. This site is the true meaning of the internet, people all over the world helping each other out. Thanks to everybody who started this site and maintains and moderates it, it is very much appreciated by all.

Mike

Re: Thanks for the help.

JB,
Good idea, but let's not let it replace the final posting of the resolution within the thread where the problem is described.

Would also be a good place to mention when you get a solution from somebody else's thread who had your same problem, I've gotten some valuable advice from other peoples' troubles that wouldn't have been as good without the feedback. Sometimes I remember to toss in a good word - I'm sure to remember with a sticky thread like this at the top.

thanks!!

Re: Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the help guys. The knowledge dispensed here is invaluable to myself and others. No where else on the net have I found a group so friendly and helpful. I hope no one minds when I throw my $.02 in. I just hope to help others (when I can) and pass on what I have learned to date. You guys are the best.
