Frank Gets Wet - The Video's
This first vid is getting Frank fired up. I first tried with no throttle and no choke. I could tell there wasn't any fuel in him which was a good thing. I then tried just throttle, then throttle and just a light touch on the choke and finally a little throttle and about 3 seconds on the choke.
First in the water start -
This next video is the begining of break-in.
And finally the run to a short WOT and busting through the chine walk... Then back down. I kept running it up and down, staying away from the deadly 3-4000 RPM range for any length of time. Got greated by the Coast Guard at the dock. No biggie they were admiring the boat (checking it out too). One remark that was made that ya'll might think about. I got a big compliment for having my portable VHF radio on channel 16 and my ditch bag. They never even looked at the USCG placard with the 115 hp limit stamped on it.
So this sort of officially closes the book on the FrankenMerc project. I hope those of you that are following it can use it to avoid some of the problems I ran into and to complete your motor project with the same level of success as I have found.
Thanks
Now what do I do with this... Yep, she's a virgin and a complete motor from prop to cowling.
