Re: New dash is completed!

Thanks for all the compliments. I think it will make the boat look a lot more modern than the old 80's looking dash. I was surprised that with a lot of price checking and internet shopping that U was able to redo the dash with all new pieces for around 300 bucks. I have a new MOMO wheel to replace the old one so that should help with making it more modern looking also.

Nice job! $300 for all new guages, switches, everything? Not quite as pricey as I had expected...

Progress and NAMED THE BOAT!

Progress and NAMED THE BOAT!

I was able to get the swim platform completed on the boat along with getting the name placed on the back. :D

Here is what it looked like before with the not so nice exhaust work that the previous owner came up with.

After removing the truck exhaust, new hardware and speakers mounted this is how it looks now complete with new name.

Few things completed on the BAJA restore!

Few things completed on the BAJA restore!

Being gone for a week I did not have much time to get anything completed on the boat however today I was able to get a few things completed.

Completed flooring install and sealed the floor. I then painted the engine area and bilge paint. We are going to add some color to it later, I will post pics of what we are doing when it is completed and it actually worked.

I then removed the windshield on one side and wet sanded and buffed the area where the window sits and the glove box area. I also taped up the windows and repainted the frame black.

I then installed the railing on the side and cleaned it. Here is a pic of the side with the painted windshield and the rail on.

Thanks for the complements on the speaker idea. I also placed the radio on a 3 way switch so in one position the radio will play with the speakers inside the boat. The other position will turn on the speakers on the back deck by powering the remote wire to the amp on those speakers. This way they only have to be on when you are in the water and want them on and not all the time.
