I cut new wood panels using the old ones as a templet. I then had a friend hold the wood against the boat where they would go and using a sharpie marked the board through the holes on the boat to indicate where where to drill the boards.

I then went to Lowes and purchased the item you see below!

I then dirlled a hole through the board big enough for the threaded area to go through. I then hammered this part on the BACK side of the board so that when the board was installed it would pull the part into the wood more and hold it in place.

I then recovered the board and installed with new bolts and large washers.

Nice work. I am re-doing a smaller Baja. I might also make a new dash panel out of aluminum, powder coat it black and then have the Baja logo engraved in it.

I had been following your thread. There is a lot that is the same between your boat and mine. I do like the shorter windshield on yours and the fact that it is all red. I was looking through your thread and telling myself, "I remember being at that point and having to do that" lol

Just got caught up on your project, very nice work, very inspiring and neat. Can't wait to see it in the water again. I like the colors, the dash is sweet. The LEDs make a night run cool.
Keep up the great work.

Yea it is hard to find enough colors aftermarket to do each circuit. As long as you know how to use a test light and a Volt / Ohm meter is it not a issue.

Yes, I scored a great deal on marine wire from my local Interstate Battery shop. When I was running wires I was tagging them with colored tape to speed up the process.

STEREO - I used a 3 way rocker switch ON/OFF/ON. I have radio power to both sides of the switch (ON positions). One 1 side of the rocker I added the remote (blue wire) wire to a amp that is powering the 2 speakers out the back of the boat. When the switch is in the left on position the radio comes on and the speakers inside the boat come on. When you flip the switch to the far right ON position it turns on the stereo and the speakers inside the boat along with triggers the AMP to come on and play the speakers on the back. Any boat place sells the switches or I got mine from Amazon.

LED's - I ordered them from a place that sells them by the foot. You measure what lengths you want and they come that length with wires on the ends. I will PM you the link. They cost me right at $40 to do both sides of the boat.
