Except that lovely manual makes no mention of the speedo hose. That must have been what I looked at the first time I replaced mine ;)

I have the manual and makes no mention of the speedo hose. Where do I disconnect? Why don't these kits come with everything I need ?some come with different gaskets. The ones you guys have pointed out to me doesn't seem to come with everything. Des anyone have a link to a quicksilver kit that comes with all gaskets and orings and the key? I can't seem to find the right kit by merc/quicksilver

Doesn't seem like you bothered going to the mercury site and entering your Serial, but here is the kit that I use on my 2005 : 47-43026Q06

http://www.michiganmotorz.com/mercruiserquicksilver-impeller-replacement-p-1668.html

As for the speedo - when the drive is tilted all the way up, look at the top of the lower unit closest to the boat. There will either be a quick connect fitting or a hose zip tied to the tube on the lower unit.

Oldjeep i did go to the site, I had this kit in my cart, but as you can see it only has 2 gasket and the other ones that have been mnetioned here have at least 4. I will use this one since I know it will work. I just don't understand how this only has 2 gaskets.

Some of the kits are for multiple year spans and contain gaskets you don't use. For instance the common thermostat kits come with 4 housing gaskets and you use only one or 2 of them depending on your motor

Does it mater which way I put the impeller in? Since its brand new the fins are all straight so it doesn't matter right?

You are right... Doesnt matter. Just make sure the shaft key is in place, and you lube the vanes a bit with 2-4-c or equivalent. Your installation guide will tell you to rotate the vertical shaft clockwise (looking down on it) while pushing the pump housing down on the pump. This will cause the vanes to bend in the proper direction.

so i am ready to do the job just waiting for the kit to arrive sometime at the beginning of next week. the only hestitation i have is i still have no idea how to remove (if any) the speedo connection. i looked in the front of the motor (facing the bow) and i see a sall rubbe tube going into a plastic insert. this:

Check out this thread... It has a couple great videos that show what you are asking about.

Basically a 1/4 turn fitting with an o-ring.

Ok so i removed the impeller it was brand new not even a scratch on it so replacing was a waste but at least I know its fine. I didn't put everything back on because it got too late, I will finish up tomorrow. So far so good.
