Re: To Build a Boat (any boat)
ok i'm about to start my next project as I've got the trailer frame ready for a hitch... just gotta find some 2" square stock steel for the hitch and i'm ready to have the trailer workable.

I was gonna keep it a secret until I could see if it was going to work or not before I made a fool of myself, but, I think I already accomplished that with the canoe in two

. so with that out of the way I have some preliminary drawings to show of the project.

As many of you know I was going to build a tear drop camper to pull behind my lil 4 banger car for my travel expiditions cause I hate getting caught in areas with spencive hotel rooms.

Well as of late I became the owner of an older 10 hp sailboat motor that, since i'm a newbie to boating, have come to find out that that motor is better used to push a barge as opposed to a mini hydro.

Anyway to make a long story short I wanted my next project to be a boat, but I need the camper too. So I'm going to kill three birds with one stone.

My project for the sailboat motor will be accomplished.
Camper will be built, and it will be a boat as well.

Now as for the picture, Please understand that these are not drawn to scale, and the measurements are not accurate as I have to find out what I need for transom height, and i've decided to cut 8 inches out of the height of the entire thing to keep it down to the height of my car. It will probably only be 40" tall instead of 48" if I find I need to go taller it wont be more than 44" tall. The top will be raised, during water operation, on cornor poles to deal with fuel fumes ventilation and my inability to put a window in the front curve.

Here is my final decision on hull shape as i'm pushing it with a sailboat motor and dont need an extremely efficient hull anyway. Oh also the door arrangement will be modified to a differant position since only having about 22 inches to work with for a door might not be sufficient for my tired butt climbing in and out. I'm considering a platform on the hitch and making a decent size hatch in the front top curve for the doorway.
