Yup, the little thing I have been working on for the past few months, finally took it out.

ran great, was a little rough due to the flat bottom, but nothing back breaking. Had to adjust the throttle cable at first (was a tiller engine, new controlls) But otherwises fine.

Launched great, started right up, moved quickly, and easy to stear.
The caprice towed and launched it just fine too. all and all, a good little boat.

small and easy seems like the way to go. there were the guys there at the ramp with me, with there 30' + boats yelling and screaming at whoever was helping get it back on the trailer. Made me look like a pro taking all of 2 minutes to launch and retrieve the boat

here are the pics, and my home made high-jack plate:

As one pro boater to another, I can tell you its not all fun and game out there. theres a lot of distractions, like, other boats with girls in skimpy suits, and they bounce as they pass you....

;)

Its a long shaft engine, boat is set up for a short. had to raise it 5-6"

1.5" square tubing, and angle iron seemed the best way to go.

(and by best I mean cheapest)

Actually I've never been there! Always thought it was a small lake. 30 footers there? I guess it they can get on the lake then my 20' will be fine. How is it? Does it get pretty crowded on weekends? I think I may have to check that out on a mid-week day! To think I could be boating in minutes opposed to driving an hour or more to get on the water!

its not small, but its not big, ya know?

and they make you drive in a circle, they will explain everything to you and give you a map to help you figure it out.

then you promptly forget/leave the map in the car, so you sit there and watch everyone else till you figure it out. i went saturday, and there was a 5 minuet wait on the ramp (if that) but i got there at 11, and when i was leaving around 3, there were 4 or 5 trailers waiting to launch.

driving in circles is ok i guess, but i just wondered off into the fishing area (empty) and floated around and looked at stuff.

its $15 to launch and park. and they want a life jacked, one of thoes square floaty things, and a fire extinguisher. oh, and you have to be currently registered

I'll second that...

I love those older boats when they are re-done. Mark42 has a boat that I'm in love with as well... I never had a taste for those older boats until recently... wonder how I changed!!
