Re: Transom saver...gas strut or spring loaded?
I understand that the my-wedge style is not a transom saver and doesn't work like a true transom saver. All I am asking is the people that have them how do they actually work and do you like them? I am not worried about my transom, I am a believer that you have more pressure on the water than you do going down the road. I currently have to trailer mine with the motor all the way up on the lock which gives a lot of leverage for the motor to put pressure on the transom. If I could trailer it lower that would reduce that said pressure and also reduce leverage thus reducing or eliminating bounce. I cannot trailer all the way down because the skeg will drag. I want to idealy trailer with the motor about 1/4 of the way up or just about the point where the trim ends and tilt takes over.
