I don't know. I am of simple mind. I kin bearly spell right. disconnect #87a from both relays. leave them open. do not connect anything to pin #87a. and it will work. what else you want to do is your option.

Yes, it will work the way you describe you want to do. The center wire, #87A is the one not used because it is the default ground. Recycling it to the 30 socket and recoloring it (on each socket) works. It eliminates the default ground and powers the motor. That way you do not need to find another wire.

Thanks for the help.

The wiring stage is completed. Once I re-paint, mount and test the whole TNT set up, I'll post before and after pics in case it's helpful for somebody.

On my next trip to the auto salvage yard I'll pick up some relays for spares.

ok, back to me. I have obtain a trim and tilt gauge but have no idea how to hook it up to my force TNT unit.... help.

Bgod,

I also wanted to thank you on your replies on my TNT project.

After reading some posts on this forum on Trim gauges, I think I'm going to skip adding one- even though I also obtained one. According to what I've read, the trim gauge has little value since trimming is done while the boat is moving and is done by noting the bow's relative position on the horizon (i.e. Is it too high or too low?) which changes frequently with where people are sitting and where the weight is. The gauges don't seem to be reliable as well. Most of the comments have been how the gauge doesn't show the true position of the motor and so are oftern ignored all together.

I'll be following the replies to see if the install is worth the trouble.

As promised here are some before and after pics of the finished project. Special thanks to all who chimed in with their tips and tricks. It works like a champ. Added a switch at the transom (on the port side so I can make sure that the motor engages the trailering latch) as well as a trim and tilt switch to my Capri "Trek" console.

Like the tell-tale, it's an upgrade worth adding, IMHO.
