Re: UPS Integrity????

We should cut them some slack. UPS is not the company it used to be and with Internet sales, their (and other') package volumes have SKYROCKETED in the past few years.

I would think that the solution to that sort of thing is... hire more people.

I love it when I call a company and get an automated message: Your phone call is important to us, please wait for the next available operator. And then the waiting begins... If our calls were important they would have enough people to answer them (timely).

It's all about sufficiency: how much is barely enough?

Re: UPS Integrity????

My biggest beef is with DHL and USPS; our UPS and FedEx service here is tolerable. USPS recently took 14 days to get a package from Ohio to me here in St. Pete. After numerous calls, an operator there told me a package isn't considered late until it is more than 2 weeks since shipment! What the heck is that, 2 weeks to get from Ohio to St Pete FL? I mean really, are they shipping stuff on bicycle or turtle-back? Right now I have a package somewhere on a DHL truck, shipped from Idaho 8 days ago, how long can it really take.

Last year I had some presentation materials OVERNIGHT PRIORITY shipped to me via DHL to be delivered on a Friday morning before 11 AM, paid a pretty penny for the service. It didn't make it to me on Friday, so I expected it first thing Saturday; the least they could do. I was informed that it wasn't scheduled for Saturday delivery so it would be delivered on Monday. What the heck, not scheduled for Saturday? Dang right, it was scheduled for Friday morning delivery..... So it's "we didn't make it Friday, so we'll get it to you Monday" On top of that, I had to meet the driver at a White Castle on the way back to the airport to return home on TUESDAY, after giving the presentation with no materials... Worst service I have ever experienced!!!

the worst service i have had. is i think it is FedEx, that has a system that they bulk deliver to a USPS distribution center, closest to your home, then USPS delivers. ridiculous.

That must be different in different areas, because they deliver their own packages here. Of course, we also have a major FedEx facility here, so that might be why.

UPS is the one that works with USPS. Works good for where I live as it saves a 20 mile drive to ship a package, not so good when USPS drops the package off at the mailbox's on 301 (3/4 mile away) as they won't drive up the road (unpaved).
Don't know how UPS works it but FEDEX uses independent contractors for local deliveries.
