After meeting with my Doctors (including Dentest) today.......I am cleard to carry on. (3 years free of that cancer thing)

My VA gave me a chance, I took it....And I thank.... each and everyone of you...... for "stepping up to the plate".....to provide me the opportunity......to be here!

This July 4 has a new meaning.....unlike never before. :D

Better yet you get to spend more of your life out on the water enjoying your boat.

I've been service connected since 93 and go to the va facility here in Philly. Nice folks who care about the welfare of the veterans they serve.

GOOD FOR YOU MAN... AND STAY IN GOOD WATER:D

BTW I have more respect for my VA Hospital then I do my local civilian hospital. The difference is a 5 minute ride versus a 1 hour ride and I will take the hour drive any day.

As one of those "taxpayers" you talk about, we thank you, and everybody else who has served, for being a veteran of and for this country. As screwed up as things may be right now out there it would be worse without people like yourself.

And good to here about the clean bill of health.

So true, freelancer. There is not much about life I don't enjoy anymore. I feel everything I do from now on is a bonus.

My lady has been with me on many occasions and she can't believe the treatment I recieve. I am so greatful.

Ahhhh, aspeck. You know me. ;)......To late!

I guess many people that have battled a life threatening situation don't sweat the small stuff and live life to the fullest. I cherish each and every moment. I've been living out my dreams. If something happened to me today, I feel like I've met all the goals I set for myself. Now is time for some new ones. Helping others the best I can, no matter how much I have to go out of my way, is one.

And when you are done with the gas dock, I have some trim that needs repainted and shelving that the Mrs. wants hung ... shucks, there is a 3 page list of honey-dos that I will hand over to you so I can go out and enjoy the lake! Thanks for the offer to help! You sure are a swell guy! The guest room is ready for you!

Fantastic Sasto! Like I said to you before, what you went thru is double tough and I commend you for your strength and commitment. As the father of a son who is in VA care, I understand your sentiments exactly. Thank you for what you've done and for enduring what you have. We're all better just knowing you!

Thanks, Fireman.

The thoughts of you and your son came to me when I posted this. I also commend you for the great steps and unselfish acts you have made to make him a part of your family. Your love for him will certainally help pull him out of his situation. Tell him my thoughts and prayers are with him.

Art needs a psychologist. There's still hope for him. Too late for me. Glad you're doing well Sasto, and a special July 4th thanks for your service.

Too late? Nah, I like ya just the way you are. ;)

I took a guy from the marina to the VA with me to get signed up for health benefits. He served in Viet Nam and has a Purple Heart due to getting blown out of a bunker. We decided to take his 54' Hatteras Sportfish down the river to anchor out for the night of the 4th to watch fireworks with our ladies and sip on a few brews. I found myself a new friend. :D
