anybody see what the president said on the UAE port deal, seems the UAE are the good guys and play by the rules, well except the rule of recognizing Isreal's right to exist.<br /> however he also says he will Veto any legislation to block the deal. man its so good to see all the staunch republicans gather round a lame one.<br /> if the president is not careful he may shoot his political foot off. or chew it off, I aint sure which.<br /> but if he veto's congress it will be his first in six years,<br /> but if he is in a hole will he keep digging or blame the shovel ?

Rodbolt,you are only partly right about the united arab emirates not recognizing Israel.The UAE has extensive trade relations with Israel and although there are no official relations,the unofficial ones are close and warm.

Can someone tell me why this deal is good for US? We are at "War" with terrorists, undeniably of Arab descent. Why on God's green earth would we want to sell our ports to the nations from which our current enemy comes from?<br /><br />I guess since rush says it's an OK deal, we all must accept it. After all the bloated narcissistic wind-bag is right, NOT. Just goes to show how he's a party puppet too.<br /><br />But seriously, can anyone explain why this is a good deal? And please keep the "'cuz he says it is," party rhetoric to yourself.

What your saying is the same thing I want to know, Us inland boys dont know how the port system works, From what was said today the ports belong to the port athoritys, And are leased to the operators to run, port athority prevails. <br /> It was also mentioned that All ports in the USA are presently operated by forien business. <br /> None of the ports are operated by americans. this deal Closes Britans last ports under thier operators. They are in the same boat as US if this deal goes through.<br /> Opinions Costal members????
