Hello gang,
Engine is a '78 Johnson 85HP. I think the model no. is 85ML78C.
First off, I feel like an idiot for not knowing this, but does water normally come out of this hole in the lower unit? I don't really remember seeing water shooting out of this hole. See below:

Also, today I took some temperatures with an infared temperature gun while the engine was running. I did it because one cylinder head felt way too hot to the touch. On the port side cylinder head, I got around 150F, and on the other side I got over 200F. I don't think either head is supposed to get that hot. I didn't have any overheat alarms - I don't know if those are hot enough - but I did check to see if the buzzer in the control box worked. It does.
I assume these temperatures, at least one of them, is too high? I thought these thermostats opened at around 143?
I replaced the thermostats last year when I got the motor running. Water pump is older, and due to be replaced. So I am going to go and replace the water pump and thermostats again. Other than that, is there anything else I should do to the cooling system on this motor?
Thanks in advance.
