I pulled my 16ft bluewave centerconsole with a 98 dodge quadcab 4x4 with the 5.9 V8. Now I have a 08 Chevy 2500hd 4x4 that I haul my 95 VIP valiant with. Handles it wit ease but I can tell I have a big boat back there. My dodge would struggle on hills.

F250 King Ranch diesel, 4x4, tuned with 800ft/lbs torque.
Tows boats, trailers, and broken down dodges, with no sweat.

One of my other hobbies is some fairly serious rock crawling in full sized rigs. My personal rig is a heavily modified 1978 FJ40. It weighs well over 4K pounds, and probably closer to 5K "wet." The car hauler is 2100#. I pull it with my diesel pickup, and it's like nothing. Just about all of my friends in the hobby use 3/4 ton trucks as their tow rigs.

My point? My point is when I first saw minivans being posted, I was like what the heck?!?!?!? But then I realized boat trailers and most small and moderate sized are light compared to what I am used to.

Sort of off topic question for you, but I will be picking my boat up Friday for the first time, and also doing my first retrieval. With my first launch soon to follow. I just bought a bunk trailer, and will have to submerge it like the one in your pic I am thinking. Anyway, cab you see your trailer in the water via your mirrors, as you back it while submerged?

Nope. Through the mirrors you can't see the trailer at all, unless you're turning.

I usually just back up until the van is about to go in the water...stop, get out and have a look, then go further if needed. The ramp in the picture is great...good drop off. The van's tires don't even have to get wet.

04 ford ranger 3.0l v6 4x2 or 75 ford f250 6.9l big block v8 4x4

89 celeberty br 181 4.3l alpha 1, single axel ezloader trailer toatal with gear about 2700lbs

ranger pulls it up 7% grade at 70 mph

had to add a rear sway bar to the ranger to improve rear stability

uasually use ranger to tow f250 uses way to much gas

I just drop the tailgate on my truck while backing the empty trailer in.

I tow my various toys with my '99 Ford F-250 Super Duty V-10 4x4. It has a 4" lift and 35" tires. Pulls everything I hook up to it (Boat, horse trailer, car hauler, tag trailer, etc...) with no problem

I tow a 12' Aerocraft on a modified box trailer with carpeted bunks added(my first trailer rebuild) behind a 4.0 V6 '99 Ford Explorer.

I know...I'm looking for a bigger boat. I've got horses that aren't being used.:redface:

I tow my Regal Cuddy with my 95' Ford Bronco. The only time I know it's there is with a heavy cross breeze.

2 tow vehicles: 1- Minivan 2- Truck

2 seasons with our 2003 Honda Odyssey minivan -- one heck of a tow vehicle.

This season it will split duty with my new 2005 Explorer Sport Trac depending on how much stuff we need to carry along.

I anticipate mostly using the sport trac because its got some kool towing features, and especially because of the key pad on the door so I can leave my keys and stuff in it when boating. However, when we take our 8 day long trips, I anticipate taking the van because I can store enough supplies for a small army in the back of the Odyssey when the rear seat is down.
