Do not blame your "HUBBY" for you being land locked today, he does not own you. Let him sleep [his choice] and you go boating. You do have a mind of your own unless you are a Blonde.

I caught that Fly Rod. ;)

I'm a Network Administrator. We have 16 servers, 13 of which are Windows and the other 3 are Linux (2 RedHat ES4 and 1 FC6), and over 150 workstations that I am responsible for. But I'm also the help desk and tech trainer.

Sr. Oracle Database admin here. Love it most of the time, though it can get dull.

Advanced IBM Unix - Pffffft. There's gotta be a joke in there somewhere :D

I am a retired Paramedic. After 25 years enough was enough. I now own a furniture store. Only time I get nervous now is when someone 9 months pregnant comes in then I direct them to odd lots

I started as a Chevrolet mechanic (engine, trans, rear end, and front end)
Then went into construction, ending up as a superintendent on multi-story buildings.

Regional sales manager for a manufacturer of bulk solids metering equipment. Started my working career in a kitchen cleaning up. Someone tell my dad I'm doing all right. I think he thinks I am still a dock attendant at the local marina. :)

Lol. Pointer, I forgot to put in that I made good money as a teen, launching boats for people that had no clue.
This is at a private boat ramp/fishing camp.

Hmm, Let's see.

I did environmental control for the above ground insulation on the Trans Alaska Pipeline project. Turned down an opportunity to go to Iraq before it was fashionable with Bechtel Corp!

Sales/mill management for a softwood plywood company for many years, but since we have the son of the owner who has decided he knows how to run this company, and is helping us, we are heading for a crash.

It is reassuring to know that our problems are someone else's fault, according to him at least, the handwriting is on the wall that I've got to find something else to do. Not sure what that is going to be.

Any Ideas?

Re: What does everyone do for a living?

i went to school to be a auto mech. got out of school in the early 80's. never did find a job as a auto mech. but did get a job for a local locksmith. that worked out good. only worked there 2 years but had great ojt. then got a job as a locksmith in a max prision. did that 9 years. man that'll make ya take a straight and narrow path. anything to not go there. it even messes with yer head when yer an employee... not a great place to work. then 4 more years a UNL (university of nebraska, lincoln) as thier locksmith. in 95 i couldn't take bein a yes man any more. i've been unemployeed, rather self employed since since then. that has worked out pretty good too. as i'm also a single dad. the boys now gettin ready for his last year of highschool. i'm still unempolyed or self employed depending on the day.......

Marine Scientist, but working on clean air issues related to fuels.

Was the senior scientist in charge of bay restoration for part of southwest FL. It was a great job allowing me out on the water for projects such as seagrass and, scallop restoration and artificial reefs, but the salary structure there stinks.
