I'm one cast away from the big one! I named my first and second boat after the handle.

Re: What does your username stand for?

Had to resort to using name given at work because I didn't have the time or patience to think of one after trying for 20 mins and all the ones I did try were taken. Maybe if I were at home I would have come up with something like "honey dew this". This is a GREAT site. I have learned a lot in the short time I've been a member. Thanks to all and your willingness to share your knowledge.

Dave

Well as the name says, I am a spinner bait nut. The whole boat is full of them. All 6 storage holes are full of them. Of the 8 rods onboard, 7 has them on them. The other is a spare. :p

Grandaddy owned a bar. When I was a kid, my job was to keep the dishes full of peanuts. It kept the patrons happy, and the salt made them thirsty.

When they'd run out, they'd holler, "beernutz!", and I'd come a-runnin'. Guess it kinda stuck with me.

My initials, spelled out: MB = Emby. Sometimes I finds it's already taken, then I become Empiby (MPB).

Yea, corny. But I've been doin' it for decades this way.

Scoop. In college, I was in a 24 hour trivia contest. In the contest they had these questions about something on campus you would have to run to get the answer. In addition our team would always had an extra player called the half barrel. Usually good beer. Our job was to win the contest and finish the half barrel in 24 hours. Normally 5 to 10 people on the team. Needles to say, I did my job only too well and then decided to go on a running question. On the way to get the answer I fell and scooped all the mud out of a mudhole onto my back. I then leaned up against the white pillars at the college presidents office. They never let me forget it. By the way, in 4 years, we only came in second once and we finished the half barrel ever time (Sometimes on the way to the awards ceremony).

You know those sashes boy and girl scouts wear to display all their achievement badges? Well, my 15 year old son is a goofball, and he makes me a badge every time I screw up. This was my first badge, for working on the boat engine in the driveway without having the hose hooked up. :p

My efforts at fishing are not succesful enough. Rather then admit defeat, I tell people I was out washing my tackle.

Lugnut does not come from what most people might think, i actually got it because my best female friend used to always call me a "big lug" and everyone else would say im a nut, so hence Lugnut.

I sink like a stone: so, no matter what, I always wear a PFD out on the water.

On the same boat trip one buddy says, "why bother? The airbag you call your brain will keep you afloat. And at the same time, his wife says, "Well but even with that big huge life jacket on...all you can see of him is the top of his head".

Out on the water I deamnd to be called MR. Bobber head.

Re: What does your username stand for?

Mine is simple

Kelton = last name
Krew = my family.

It started on our annual trips to Kansas to visit my wife's family. We'd take our trailer up there and send email stating the krew was coming.

Since we always do things as a family, we've been called the kelton krew, hence username.

Last August we bought a bright red Glastron GX205. Kids wanted to have the word "hot" in the name. Like SharkByte I work in the computer field and it became Hot Byte.

BL...
