Re: What does your username stand for?

I am famous for getting the Last Cast on a fishing trip, especially party boat fishing trips where pools are involved

When I was fifteen, my uncle was first mate on the Reliant, an old single scrrew tub out of Sea Isle, and it was time to go

Wind em up!!!

hang on, Im a cast away from winning the pool!

fluke were in like crazy that day, and I got hammered by something BIG ... and I was using light tackle, so it took about an hour to get the 23 pound BLUEFISH  up, caught on an english bent hook, lol, the other guys were SO pissed off, but my uncle was stunned, dammn boy, you sure were a cast away from the pool! hey, its the castaway kid!

for years, it was hey CastAway, gonna win the pool?

eh, dont want to be greedy, Ill give em a break!

or

dunno unk, I like that thar new (whatever new reel was out), think Ill take the money home

and usually would, lol, they laughed at me for using minnow and squid out in the ocean, but it is LETHAL out there, just like on the bays!

:D

I thought I Filled this out before...
NOSLEEP is the name of my boat. It gets its name
from heading out to the fishing hole very early
in the A.M. My fishn partners would complain they
got no sleep.

Some of us just aren't very creative. After getting to know some of these colorful iboats characters, I would have been more creative also. A is first initial, Speck is last name. That would be me, aspeck.

Re: What does your username stand for?

I hope mine isn't mistaken for arrogance or the like. ;)
I've been in the masonry trade (brick, stone, glass block) forever. Started my own business in '90, and have always strived to do my work as best as possible.
My dad is also a masonry contractor, so there is a sense of rivalry when it comes to doing, or having done a particular custom masonry project.

Lastly, yes I took the name for myself as it was out there and nobody else was using it anywhere. It's my name everywhere as well as email addy.
Real name is Alan, and I'm quite impressed with this forum and it's wealth of knowledgeable individuals. It's the 1st place I visit every morning and evening and I'd like to thank you all for making me feel welcome here. :)
p.s. I just figured out how to post pics! ;)
Mine came from a video game on the Internet. From before the Internet was a public play ground. It is a play on words that basically means "just some mage". However, I took out the "just" part and went with the "some mage" part to make samagee.

I have always had an old flathead harley or two in my garage. I love them things!! The extra H is because some body here had already used the name flathead.

Re: What does your username stand for?

Been a sailor for over 35 years until two weeks ago when I sold what may be my last sailboat..but you can never tell. Most of my adult life I've owned a sailboat with a cabin that could be lived aboard..and did for a few years. I always felt I was a bit of a ne'er-do-well and figured it's better to be a 'yachtsman' than homeless.

--just used my given name--
--tried some creative (or so I thought,-like "pudd" or "poppaboner" or "mauser98") on other boards--after awhile I just didn't like the handles--
so, I'm just ordinary Pat Campbell-

Nice work Topmason. A good mason can make the stone dance as you have done on that job. Whats up with the mantle?
