What great customer service from a company!

I'm still a bit in shock about this. This company hit me out of left field.

I purchased a home security camera system that is internet accessible remotely from this company, 123security products back around November or so I believe. The week or so before I made my purchase they had changed the DVR that came with the package to some no name brand I didn't like. So I asked if they could give me what I'd seen on their website for a long time before that for the same price and they did.

Fast forward to now. One of the cameras has some little lines in the picture. Nothing major just annoying. Well, I had no idea what was causing it so I called them. I spoke with a lady and she said "Oh yea, that's probably your wire. Did you buy the system from us?" And I told her I did and gave her the name and such from the order. She said, "Yes, I'm pretty sure its your wire. I'll send you out another one right now, free, don't worry about it. It's on us." I was like uh um whoa wait, you're giving me the wire!?!? She said "yep, I'll email you an order confirmation right now." I was stunned. I wasn't calling for free parts, just calling to see if it was something I could fix. I was fixing to order a new wire but didn't have time to even ask, she had already placed the order.

You don't see that much anymore. This system didn't have a warranty on things like wires, etc, but they honored it. Now understand, this is a full 100' video cable with a power cable in it from the camera power supply inside the house. This sucker isn't cheap, I'm remembering something like 30 bucks without shipping. They didn't have to do that.

that is a rarity in todays world! normally what you get is " we will send somebody out....$75 service call+hrs+materials. " ...send them a kudos!!!

Some companies have really good customer service and realize it is what brings customers back and causes them to recommend that company to others. I ordered two packages of aluminum rivets from McMaster Carr a couple of weeks ago. When you order from them it just says standard shipping will be applied. Didn't worry me too much until I got the notification when they shipped. They shipped each package of rivets separately, with two charges for shipping. So two package of rivets that cost me about 12 dollars were going to cost me almost 12 for shipping. I called McMaster and explained that I ordered both packages of rivets at the same time and that I expected one of the shipping charges be removed. The lady I spoke with said they would refund the shipping. That night when I got home the rivets had already arrived (3 days after I ordered). The next day when I checked my account they had refunded the entire amount of my order, not just part of the shipping. So where I would have been telling people here to be careful ordering from them, I now would tell anyone who asked "yeah, order from McMaster," they will treat you right.

Wow, a couple of great stories. Ain't it great to do busines with a company that is interested in quality, reputation and professionalism? I built my boat, so over the years I've bought a few not-so-common boatbuilding items from Jamestown Distributors. One time a person from their shipping department actually called me to tell me that if he combined two of my orders and changed the shipping instructions he could save me a bundle on shipping. Yeeeaaah, that guy was doing a lot more than just showing up for work that day - he was being a professional that made his entire company look good. That was over 10 years ago and I've thought about that many times.

It is soooo good to hear stories like that WITF. We hear so many complaints about lousy customer service. It is good to know that there are still real pros in the business. :)

I've had a handful of experiences(with other businesses) like the OP's, so I def believe it.

Customer service like this pays for itself tenfold.

The security company probably has had many problems with the cables and know them to be an issue.

With all the acronyms being used on forums these days and all the bleeping out on tv, I took WITF to mean something completely different.:facepalm: Then I saw JB use it!:eek: Finally it hit me who they meant...........:redface:

It's nice to hear solid customer service is still out there.

I had a great experience myself this past week with Samsung. My 46" LCD's capacitor went out and they sent out a local TV repairman free of charge. Fixed the capacitor, and went the extra mile and replaced the power supply just in case.

I was truly amazed, I went from being furious my fairly new really expensive TV went out, to completely forgetting there was a problem! :)
