we have a thread about how a cat knows when you are home, what about where my cat goes all day? my cat is a indoor/outdoor cat, she likes to be out all day then come home at night. what and where could she possibly be, and be doing?

Re: where does my cat go

they're in your neighbor's yard dumping in the garden. or maybe hunting the reptiles and birds in the area with no intent to eat them.

sorry, my neighbors leave food out for cats. there are often a dozen of them in their yard waiting for meal time. the rest of the time they seem to be in my yard.

Cats are natural hunters. They are also opportunists. You might say they are a standard welfare type. If some dope a mile away is putting food out for them, they'll find it.

I had a neighbor, a mile away, complain that my cat was over there all the time and he HAD to feed it. I told him to quit feeding it and it would come home to eat like it's supposed to. He said he could not do that to the poor cat.

Cat got run over and expired one day going for his free lunch.

We wonder the same thing about ours. Unless we learn to speak their language we will never know.
Do you have a garden shed? Sometimes one of ours is up on the roof
snoozing in the sun.:D

i think someone needs to check snopes on the bus riding cat.

i have 2, one just spends her day sleeping on my bed, she is older.

Sammy, roams, sleeps in the window sill of his choice that day, laundry baskets, boxes, deep in closets, uses the dog door, makes a bed in the leaves under big plants, catches an occasional rat, still has not gotten a bird.

One of ours seems to spend a lot of time in our (covered for the winter) boat. :)

If that was your cat that was sitting on top of my freshly painted Yukon yesterday, it will be a cat that never comes back if I see it again.

Re: where does my cat go

Like you, my neighbors also think its cool to bring a pet home with the intention of turning it loose on the neighbors. These cats spray in my boats, eats birds and mice in my boats, tear up my upholstery and covers. They track mud in my boats and shed fur every where. Vinyl and covers are not cheap and all this damage should be born by the owners who, when confronted claim they can not be held accountable.. SO neighbors cats that come into my yard are trapped and turned over to animal control. Thank you for the property damage you bring to your neighbors!!!

Funny you should say that...... I can swear that cat comes to my yard to hunt for mice and get away from the hot weather. (I do have a cat who is addicted to BBQ potato chips)

actually....... the cat is doing cat stuff since when human's leave the cat's never ask where we have been and what we have been doing!
