Is the father charged?


DELTONA, Fla. - An angry Deltona father whacked his teenage daughter's boyfriend with a metal pipe after finding the boy naked in his daughter's room. Authorities say the father, 45, didn't even know his daughter had a boyfriend or that the youngster had been sneaking into the home for more than a year.

When he heard noises coming from his daughter's bedroom Thursday morning and saw a stranger standing naked on the girl's bed, he swung a metal pipe. He then chased the teen out the front door and called police.

The boy was taken to the hospital where doctors closed a head wound with staples.

The father was charged with aggravated battery on a child and bonded out on $10,000.

Because we aren't supposed to defend ourselves and our families anymore. Hope he takes it to jury trial... that's a hung jury waiting to happen.

Once my son stabbed a drug dealer, had he died, he would have faired significantly better.
My first wife shot me. Had I died, she would have got off scot free.

I agree, whenever I hear strange noises late at night I always have the 12ga in hand.

I chased my daughters BF outta the house with a louisville slugger several months ago, he hasnt come back to the door since, he waited outside after that when he picked her up . She just dumped him last week and the new BF fishes I might even like him.

Dam right the father should be charged. This event of sneaking in to see the daughter in her bedroom has been going on for a year.

I fail to see how a naked boyfriend is any match for a person with a weapon (regardless of type). Hit the guy in the head? That is a killing shot in my book.....

There is not adaquate information..... ie. How old is the daughter?

Come on people flip the scenario over...... as a youth in love you sneak in to have fun with your girlfriend and it's been going on for a year...... If this is considered to be a natural reaction from being caught in the act...... how many less iboater's would there be!

Admit it people kids go parking ....... teenage pregnacy is on the rise...... sounds like there is more to this story.

I can almost see your point Bob. I done alot of sneaking when I was a teen too, just lucky and never got caught. Rest assured that if it was my daughter that had a naked man standing over her he'd be a dead feller right about now. I have 3 girls so in the future ya'll can quote me if'in I happen to kill a naked guy in my house that I don't know. Her age doesn't matter, she could be 10 or 35, a naked guy in my house that I don't know is gonna eat some lead.

I see your point Ken,,, Bob, The guy might have been the daughters boyfriend, or not, but being as she must have been seeing him on the sly in her room, I'm guessing that Mom, & Dad, had no idea this was happening, & they never met him, so in essence he was a naked stranger in the daughters room. It would be instant blind rage for me as well , and I'd end up doing this, or something similar! If this is the case, I consider this extenuating circumstances, and think the charges should be dropped against the Dad, but he should have to make some kind of restitution, because the injury was due to the actions of his numbskull daughter!

If the guy was a known aquaintance of the daughter, I don't think this would have happened, or if it did I doubt it would be as severe a reaction.

If I heard strange noises in my house int he middle of the night, I'm grabbing at least a whacking stick.

I WAS putting the shoe on the other foot. I remember the stuff I did with my girlfriends at that age, and I deserved to get hit upside the head with a lead pipe!

I'd like to see the day some punk kid (I know, I was one, too) could sneak into my daughter's bedroom! My bluetick coonhounds would wake me up immediately and when I'm not home, my daughter would be at school. Of course, I'm lucky enough to work good hours and be home a lot.
When my little girl (she's 3) gets to be 30 or 40 and starts dating, I'm going to demand to meet the "fellow" before the date and will happening to be sharpening my bowie knife and cleaning my shotgun when he comes over to pick her up. I will make it very clear what time she is to be home and what I expect. At least, that's how I envision it taking place. I personally wouldn't pick up a pipe over the naked kid deal, but would probably find some way to put the fear of God in him so he never came over for a "visit" again. Then I'd quickly go to "Chastity-belts-r-us" to take care of the daughter. UGGGH! I don't look forward to my daughter getting to be a teenager.
She sure is a ray of sunshine now, though. Even in my foulest of moods, that little rascal can always make me smile.

Dogs are actually terrible guardians... and kids have a knack for playing hookie... and then playing hooker. I'm sure your daughter is a good kid though. I'm just saying that if they want to get into that kind of trouble, they will find ways to do it.

Must live in a different world................never have I armed myself to investigate "noises" in my home ................strange or otherwise. If I ever thought there was serious concern for the well being of any family member in the house my first move would be to dial 911. Then move on from there.

The point seems to be if the girl is a minor, and sneaking a guy into her room (not necessarily a propper boyfriend, but a stranger, to all but her), and the parents have no idea this is going on, then they're suddenly, surprised, shocked, and enraged, at the moment! I can imagine this happening. Maybe he's a single Dad, too busy working, and raising the girl as well, to be aware of all this.

i have dogs there very good at not letting anyone thats not living in my house
know were they stand as a former cop as you kenneth waking in the middle of the night will always bear the use of a firearm if needed but if the male is a juvy and the girl also then attacking a naked juvy with a pipe may
be anger driven and i could see why. but the kid had been around for a year
he must of had some idea ,he would be laying face down naked
waiting on his parents to show up ,as opposed to wacked in the head
had he posed further threat he would probaly take a round .
probaly fatal i dont condone sneaking boys into young ladys houses
but even some *** wooping would probaly have done and you would probaly feel better wooping it than getting and aggrvated assualt with weapon
the blow to the head could have been fatal then you would have killed a juvy
that she probaly new since there were no cries for help,
and all of us haveing been young would probaly fit the case for the right girl at that age [hormones ]
