Yeah, well we can make sure you got papers, dips, shots and a bath before the next one....

Jeesh...some people think they can just wander in off the street and do anything..I knew we were missing a lot of meat off that grill!

And as far as distance, Kev, I think you had one of the longest drives of all, even living here.

So far, most of us seem to populate the northern half of the state. Do we have anyone form Miami even asking about the gathering? Or Broward and West Palm?

I want to look this weekend at the Homosassa/Crystal river area. I think rentprop is up that a way as well and he has posted some places.
Look, we have over seven months to bring this thing together. Right now I don't have a sense of urgency about all this due to the time frame. I think if I had to go someplace and tell them we have X number of people coming, I could not give them that number. I believe only half of who we were expecting showed up at our first meet.

This is a members arranged and organized gathering. Nolan,Kev,Bob,Craig,Melon,Eshaw,Rentprop and others thanks for your efforts. As well as any others who have spotted possible sites. And I guess the final decision will be agreed upon by all of us. Keep it coming!

I'm all for LG State Park again since I live locally and gives you access to the Harris Chain of Lakes including lakes Harris, Griffin, Eustis, and Dora without getting dry. I did find a place over on the coast that looked promising for getting out in the flats and Crystal River called Crystal Isle RV Resort.

Haven't been there but the prices for camping aren't too bad at $30 a night for a tent site and goes up from there. Also they do allow pets.

i have requested more detailed info that there website does not show. boat ramps, lake and river access. etc. more pictures. who do we have in that area to check it out.

Hi all,
Noobie to the site and my eyes hurt from reading five pages. I have friends who recently visited Ft Desoto St park near St Pete and they were marveled at how beautiful the place was. Campsites on the water , pets allowed and plenty of boating access. Boats right up to your site! I googled it and was amazed also. Anyone here with real life on site experience? Looks like it would satisfy most needs.

Hiya neighbor...! Yep, Ft Desoto is a great park, just can't get in...they are always full to the brim. I used to camp there and it took a trip to the park or to a Pinellas county govt office to find and book a site. we could never get all of us in there ....at the same time...beautiful site with fantastic fishing everywhere. Egmont key is just a short boat ride away. For anyone who lives nearby, if you haven't been there its a must see kinda place.
So, Larry keep looking. We are favoring some sites in CrystalRiver or central Florida if you know any....

Welcome to iboats Larry. i love the Tampa/St Pete area, spent my summers there in Jr & Sr high school.

it would be my ideal place to find an area where you could beach your boat right at the campsite, and swimming there also. that is what the old days camping was about. it just that those places have been replaced with condos, and houses.

I have hopes to take the toon out this weekend, it has rained every day here for the last 2 weeks and boating has been a no - go, we usually go to the Homosassa River area, I know it pretty well, but should spead a little time checking a few more places out.

I think Friday or Monday - I have to run up north a little bit and was thinking of checking out that Yellow Jacket place near Fanning Springs, I like the looks of that place via the website. its not an easy site, but click around there are a lot of pics.

I did find a place over on the coast that looked promising for getting out in the flats and Crystal River called Crystal Isle RV Resort.

I have been there before, they do have a nice pool, its a lot of RV sites and I know you can leave your boat in the water over night ( some boat spaces with RV site ), about 10 min run out to the flats and the open gulf and about 10 min back into Kings Bay with waterfront dining and other marina's and stuff, I know they have things like volley ball court and if memory serves correctly a get together ( community ) room that is inside. EDIT their web site shows it under renovation...lol

bad news is....its run by Encore resorts and they are famous for large event or holiday weekend ( Labor-Mem Day ) overbooking screw ups and poor organization, we need to make sure if you guys pick this place everyone get a spots reserved....don't ask me how I know..family member used to work there......its a nice modern RV resort, many Restaurants and shops about 6 miles away back in Crystal River on US 19

Rick, if you don't make it up this way, let em know via PM, I can run over and get more info........ it about 20 min away

They listed tent prices on their reservation section on the website so I'd say yes...
