So back from a week at the cabin, I have the block, crank, rods and pistons in the truck awaiting for my next move. I have found a local guy selling parts for this motor that i plan to go look at and probably pick up for the right price
So group I had a look at the block, muffler, adapter plate for signs of freezing and did not see any obvious damage. Are there any common places or things I can to to make sure there is no damage before I start to shovel $ at buying parts ?
I called my local Evinrude dealer in St John's newfoundland looking for a crank. I told the guy it was a 1995 he said crank should be part # 434 769 and they are discontinued and out of stock in Canada and they were $230 .....
https://www.evinrudeparts.ca is out of stock also the guy there was very help full and told me that 92-97 (88, 90,100, 112,115)HP all take the same crank ...........
At a job interview I was asked if I knew how to use the tools on a table.----After taking just 1 measurement with a 1-2 " micrometer , I asked interviewer if he wanted more done.-----He said --" good enough " young man.-----When you come from a shop where tolerances of + /- 0.00002 can be held it was all easy for me.
