Volvo Penta V8-300CE DP w/cl cool

The closed side stayed wet and didn’t run dry. Engine, all aluminum, should be okay since temperature was even throughout; antifreeze stayed circulating and no steam hammering. The manifolds along with risers (both aluminum) and fuel pump are cooled by the failed raw/sea water pump and were...

    Exhaust Temp sensor 3889526 Spec?

If I recall correctly: Manifold. First stage, 190-F. Second stage, 205-F. Riser. First stage, 210-F. Second stage, 220-F. This motor has exhaust “thermostats”.

    Volvo Penta 5.7 gxi overheating

The smaller diameter won’t seal against the I.D. of the pump housing. No seal, reduced/no flow. Muffs or lake to test.

    Boat lift electric drive

Ours was a cantilever too; noisy like a Model T. Wow, they’ve gotten expensive @ $1,400. Best of luck.

    Boat lift electric drive

Had one on a Hewitt boat lift for a ‘20 footer about 10 years ago for two or three seasons. Unless the wheel is grossly out of round, they kind of work. Had to bungee it to the frame in order to create hold down pressure or it’d slip too much. Used grip tape every 6 to 8 inches as well. Took a...

    Ford F150 w/10 spd transmission

Thank you. I’ll give the dealer a call and let the coworker that bought my ‘19 3.5L EB know. A friend has a ‘19 5.0L. Wonder if the same transmission. He’s commented about shifting before. I’ve not driven it and don’t know if the same/similar issue.

    Ford F150 w/10 spd transmission

I’m not sure what you are talking about. You insinuate diesel is the only propulsion subject to leaving the owner/operator stranded, and that states are tightening against diesel. Stranding happens to diesel, gas and electric… equal opportunity with all the added automation. Regarding tightened...

    Ford F150 w/10 spd transmission

California is tightening, to this point I’ve not heard of other states but agree these are mostly dead money now like gas. California seems a bit incongruent though. They drop all that fire retardant every year when the hills are burning but fail to include proposition-65 leaflets. If you and I...

    Ford F150 w/10 spd transmission

I’m aware of the published numbers. Having owned both though, the diesel pulls vastly better. I also realize why it was cancelled. It’s a shame, very good motor. The $4,000 up-charge has something to do with low build rates. At the same time, all that were made were sold. The emissions equipment...

    Ford F150 w/10 spd transmission

Had a ‘19, 4x4 SC V6 EB with tow package, 3.55 and 36 gallon tank. Would skip 4th and 5th typically. Also shifted with a pretty good clunk sometimes going up/down in the lowers. Not always though. Low 20’s combined up to about 70. 75 and above it plummeted. Now have the exact same truck except a...

    DPS-b drive lifts in reverse

Thank you. In reverse though, going backward at 900 RPM, force from the water acting on the drive is perpendicular to the drive and pushing towards the transom. Would this not hold it down? Perhaps when the button is pushed, whatever is causing it to activate (short, contact) is interrupted...

    DPS-b drive lifts in reverse

Something else to rule out, is the pump operating when in reverse. If so, the root cause is electrical not hydraulic. The -B is heavy, and fairly “aerodynamic”. 900-RPM in reverse may not be enough to lift it. Just food for thought.

    Boat trim

He’s serious. Have a boat that had a slight port list due to battery placement and a tiny bow up attitude with full fuel (125 gallons) and water (25 gallons). Plus, unless two or three in the bow, tended to “skip/bounce” fairly hard. Trim tabs worked, but created a lot of drag. Ended up adding...

    Boat rotation/ top speed

Attached is a picture of what you are looking for. Without the serial number, can’t be positive which SX drive is installed, but they’re similar. Kneeling in front of the drive, remove the cover. Should be plastic, should be three screws. The linkage should be on the left, lever/bracket on the...

    Boat rotation/ top speed

If the throttle wasn’t touched, ask them if they removed the shift actuator (on the drive). If you can, post a picture. It’ll tell us a lot. What you’re looking for is located under the cover that you see when kneeling in front of the drive. About eye level. Underneath is a cast part about two...

    Boat rotation/ top speed

Forget the LH prop, and fix what’s incorrect and use the correct prop. Either the shift cable is installed wrong at the helm/shift lever, or the shift actuator on the drive is installed upside down (180-off). The fuel pump, coil, alternator and battery don’t have anything to do with this...
