    Mercruiser Engine Mounts

I forgot to ask you. Did you find it hard to get the nuts and bolts undone? Did you take the bracket off the engine or did you undo the lower mounts from the brackets? How did you manage to get them off and how did you support the engine? Sorry loads of questions.

    Mercruiser Engine Mounts

That's great thank you for all your help. We sometimes have to order from the US as UK doesn't always supply, but in this case you've put me right with my UK supplier. My only concern with the HGE is that the cover and base plate are only Zinc coated, however I have some two pack epoxy paint...

Thanks for the replies guys. dubs283 1/ Thanks for the weight info 2/ I had some brain fade for how they are held down. As you say, looks like 2" bolts but through a pretty solid platform with nuts the other end. Current mounts see photo Scott "you need the squishy mercruiser mounts" Not...

    Mercruiser Engine Mounts

Hi Bondo It's good to be back, I must admit I have been away from the forums for a while now and had to re-register. Yep, definitely I'm going to replace both. I doubt my engine is a pre balanced shaft version (how can I tell)? so do you think the mounts I showed you would be suitable? They...

Hi all I have a 1988 Sea Ray Seville with a 4.3L V6 Mercruiser. Sadly one of the front engine mounts has rusted away on the bottom plate so time to replace. These are the old type of mount. I've done the usual Googling for a replacement pair but can only find HGE aftermarket here in the UK...

    Prop shaft play....

Hi all, Re. 1988 Alpha One drive shaft play. Hope you're all well. I was cleaning my Alpha One stern drive prop shaft today for a prop refit and noticed that the play back and forth (bow to stern is approx. 1/16th inch. Is this OK? Or should there be no play? Many thanks. Ian

Upgrading 2BBL to 4BBL what modifications?

Hi all I've tried long and hard to find a Power Piston to fit into my Mecarb 2BBL including many used marine depots. I was about to order a Recon Rochester Carb which would fit when I have seen a 4BBL inlet manifold on Ebay and a Rochester 4BBL carb for almost the same price as a Rochester 2BBL...

Who made the Mercarb for Mercruiser?

Hi Guys Does anyone here know who made the Mercarb for Mercruiser engines? A customer service rep from Mercury, Fond Du Lac, emailed me that it was Nikki, but I have e-mailed them with no reply and I cannot find any reference anywhere that they had anything to do with it. Any idea's?

Hi guys Mercarb 2BBL 33049565 7Y03 fitted to a 1988 Mercruiser V6 4.3L I originally posted a thread to ask if fuel dripping from my Carbs venturi's was ok. Have I got something missing from my Mercarb 2BBL?

Fuel dripping from venturi over 2000 rpm??

Re: Fuel dripping from venturi over 2000 rpm?? Thanks everyone, this is a great help. I rebuilt the carb last June with a friend who works with Japanese cars remapping them etc. I bought a Carb kit and we replaced the pump, power jet, idle jet and gaskets. Fuel dripping from venturi over 2000 rpm??

'88 Mercruiser V6 4.3L Alpha One I've been investigating a hestiation/engine miss at idle and also what I can only describe as harsh running at higher revs like 2000 and above, not seriously bad but not smooth. Plugs seem nice and dry and a good colour with a little soot around the rims...

    Oil slick whilst engine running

I'd forgotten about this until I started to recently re-commision my '88 Sea Ray Seville 4.3L Alpha One. I had replaced the elbows, exhausts, flappers (with the new style), upper stern drive seals, water pump impeller and housing etc. Upper housing seals, gimbal bearing, drive bellows, exhaust...

Re: Alpha 1 Shift Shaft maintenance I have an Alpha One which I overhauled last year and I would say whilst you've got the opportunity then I would replace as much as you can. Don't know if this is much help Ken but my Mercruiser service manual includes the MR so I'm guessing the bell housing...
